Pink and Girlie!

I think I've just about made this one in time - its one of those challenges that I have very good intentions to make something as soon as its announced, but then leave it to the last moment to do something!

On the official Daisy and Dandelion blog, there is a challenge to:

... get creative by producing a complementary Card and Gift with a BIRTHDAY THEME

I started off by going through my scraps of backing paper - the dotty ones are from Funky Hand (but cannot remember which cd, although I am fairly sure it is Funky Daze!) and covered the card blank with them - edges have been inked with pink too. I stamped the three images - Daisy, Dandelion and the balloon with chestnut whispers ink and then coloured them with watercolour paints and then went over them with watercolour pencils for more depth.

The image has been layered onto some lovely pearlescent pink card (the box is made out of the same card) and the balloon has been added with some 3d foam pads. Organza ribbon from my stash (I found a roll of 25 yards!)

And the matching gift is a triangular box (very much inspired by the Easter gift from Kath!) has been cut from the same pearlescent pink card and I've randomly stamped one of the flowers from the D&D clear stamp pack (I inked up the stamp without using the block - I found it easier this way!) Again, the main image has been coloured with watercolour pencils and paints. I've used this one as a tag for the box.

This is the first time I've used my new stamps and I must say that they are very easy to use! I think I'll try them with black ink next time for a bit more definition!
  • Printed backing papers: Funky Hand
  • Pearlescent card: From The Range (big sheet for 79p)
