Anyway! Yes, it is week 5 and its another sketch (the last one for a while - we are certainly being challenged for the next few!) I do find it difficult at times to not follow the sketch and as soon as I saw it I already knew what to do! Go and have a look on the Polkadoodle challenge blog and see all the different interpretations!
Basically, I have used some mega acetate as the actual card (it was a sheet of A4 that I trimmed a bit of the long edge so I could make the oval at the top). I've used my normal glue - Pritt Gel as I find it glues virtually anything first time and it does come off my fingers when I get a bit carried away and splodge it out too quickly! And my top tip - buy it from Asda as at just under £2, its upto a £1 cheaper there than anywhere else!
I've used a Sharpie black marker for the doodled line (otherwise it would have been hard work taking a photo as the flowers look like they float!) and then also around the edges of the flowers - the white dots are actually a white gel pen.
The middle layer on the flowers is vellum and I've just lightly curled all the petals to give a bit of definition. The two buttons are from my stash - I was surprised to find two that matched!
All the paperbased elements are from the very very soon to be released cd Sugar Birdies and if you can wait until 2 July you'll be able to see Nikky on the telly doing some demos and launching the cd! I'm busy making some samples for her but will be sending this creation for the telly show too.
And as a little thank you and acknowledgement to all those crafters who enter the Polkadoodles challenge, there is a little temptation if you enter this week - go to the challenge to find out more!- All paper based elements: Sugar Birdies cd
- Everything else: From my stash
