Fetch A Sketch Challenge 24 - Midway Extra

Apologies for the huge lateness of this post - I've suffered from blogger issues today and could only see the top toolbar and no bit to add stuff!  That will teach me to leave things to the last minute!

As a reminder, here is the current Fetch A Sketch as set by Jenny:

We've been using Echo Park papers and this week we are using the Splash papers.  And with a name like splash, I couldn't help but not make a little fishy!  I've glittered the waves with stickles for sparkle and added some gems from the Pound Shop.  I've made a hook using a number 2 brad and snipping the back off.  The hook actually swings around.

I made the fish by punching some hearts and using an X Cut oval die I cut his body.  Inadvertently, I've used a blue wobbly eye - I did think it was a black one but it does actually look fine!

Good luck with the challenge - for more details pop over to the Challenge blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Unstampabelles:  Moving Parts plus Split Pin as Bonus
Gingerloft:  Under The Sea
Pile It On:  Mix Your Scales (and literally as its a fish hehehe!)
  • Papers:  Echo Park - Splash
  • Dies:  X Cut Ovals
  • Gems:  Poundshop
  • Everything else:  My stash

Polkadoodle Challenge 36 - Sketch Recipe

It's Friday again so time for another Polkadoodle challenge! A sketch has been set this week with the stipulation of 3 brads, no fabric ribbon and the flap must be shaped. I've been very good and very naughty!

Very good as I've followed the sketch and the 'rules':
But very bad as I've used elements from the BRAND NEW cd which hasn't been released yet! I've gone for a Halloween theme - all the elements are from the cd - the haunted house is a pre-coloured digi stamp that I've inked with a very faded black stamp for a more spooky look.

The faux stitching has been created with a white gel pen, and I've added three silver snaps at the top of the flap. The spider is also a digi stamp from the cd and he is suspended on some strands of thread and I've added wobbly eyes to his face.

The pumpkin has been coloured with Promarkers along with the mummy (he is so cute!) and I've used my Sizzix Round A Bout alphabet die for the letters.

You're going to want this cd when its released - full to the brim with fab papers, digital elements and ideas!

Good luck with the challenge - you have until Sunday 19 September to enter!

  • All elements: Brand New CD from Polkadoodles - to be released
  • Snaps: W R Memory Keepers
  • Dies: Martha Stewart scallop punch, Sizzix Round A Bout alphabet die

Simple Doodles Challenge 25 - Back to School!

A great challenge this fortnight for Simple Doodles:

Back to School

I've used an Inktegrity image, coloured with Promarkers with added wobbly eyes and have layered the image onto bright squares of card.

The added embellishments I've had that long that I've lost the packaging! I've used some red embroidery thread to tie the bow through the star and also across the middle of the card.

Hope you are able to join in with the fun - the deadline for challenges is Friday 10 September and the top three from that challenge are revealed the week after. Good luck!

Jungle Buddies

These cute little cards I have made for the Charisma Cardz challenge which is:

Animal Magic

Originally the sheet (a digital download from CraftsUPrint) was intended I think for an A4ish sized card and came with a sentiment, however I quite liked the look of it to make some small notelets - these are roughly 105cm square. I printed the sheet twice onto ivory card and cut up the second sheet to make decoupage animals.

I've used the same card as card blanks and doodled a black line around the edges. And the animals have wobbly eyes added. Not sure why they are all looking to the heavens!

Great little cards and apologies for the darkish photo!

Homer / Lisa Simpson Monster...

The Cupcake Craft Challenge this week is

Monsters

And I've inadvertently made one that looks like a cross between Homer and Lisa Simpson....

Ah well! I freehand drew the shape onto some lovely bright yellow slightly textured card, chalked it and drew a wobbly thin black line around the edges. The spikes and spots were made in the same way. And I dabbed a bit of glitter glue here and there for a bit of bling.

The teeth were cut from white card and also chalked.

Samuel has been invited to a joint Birthday party mid April so one card down, one to go!

Bold, Bright and Cute Dragon!

Was asked to make a Birthday card for a to be 4 year old who liked wobbly eyed cute dragons and cards that 'did something'. So, this is what I made! The pin wheel sails turn, and the dangly disc with 4 on spins round (it's double sided). The ribbon opens the front part on the card to reveal....
A cute wobbly eyed dragon!! With sequine tummy scales, silver and glitter ears and silver strands for wings.

Thanks Clare!
