I've delved into the Polkadoodle cd archive to make my card - Not For Girls cd - the backing paper and image are all from the cd and I've added some embossed acetate (can you just about see it?!) plus buttons and embroidery thread from my stash to make up the sketch elements.

Superboy!

Yesterday saw two new releases in the digi stamps for Jellypark and here is one of them! This one is called Superboy and at only £1.25 it is a bargain! I've enlarged the image with no loss of quality and its around 5 inches tall.

He's been coloured with Promarkers and I've used an offcut of card to attach him to the card base so that he stands up on his own.

The backing papers (fantastic eh?!) are from the Not For Girls cd from Polkadoodles and I've layered it onto some red card and doodled a line around the edge. I think this is going to be one of those cards that I won't want to use!

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 4

Welcome to our fourth Fetch A Sketch challenge! Jenny is this fortnight's hostess with a rather wonderful sketch for you to work with. Jenny and I have had a play with some of the Dude Time Doodles images (I'm also on the Design Team too) and I've used one of my favourite images - Henry Hero who has been coloured with Promarkers.

All the papers and elements on the card are from the Not For Girls cd from Polkadoodle and I just love this collection of papers! It's been made for a special little boy to give to his Uncle who will be celebrating his birthday soon!

All the elements and Henry have been added with foam pads for extra dimension and its quite a large card - just slightly smaller than A5. Some of the elements have got a few foam pads behind them so it is quite a dimensional card!

A Penny For The Guy

So, a male card really! I've used a BBDesigns image - Hero Henry which I've coloured with Promarkers plus added a bit of glitter glue to his very fine set of teeth! The sentiment is computer generated and I've layered that and the image onto offcuts of card. And, if you look closely, I've had to cleverly work with the offcuts that I did have as I didn't have enough!


The backing paper is from Polkadoodles Not For Girls cd and is one of the best sheets of backing paper I've ever printed for a male card! A great superguy backing paper! I've added a bit of inking and doodling around the edges, some string and a button and that is it! And it's not a Christmas card! Actually, its to go in the Valentine card box! See how organised I sound?!

Dude Time Doodles Challenge 1 - Sketch

Welcome to our first ever Dude Time Doodles Challenge! There will be two challenges a month - each on the 5th and 20th with the first one of each month being a sketch and the second an inspiration challenge, so there should be something for everyone! We have sponsors and also top Dudette badges, giveaways and all manner of tempting things each time!

Although I've only been on the Design Team just over a week I'm having a blast! The cards the ladies have made for the men in their life have fantastic sentiments that I'm sure will leave you giggling and wanting more!

So, onto the sketch:
You can flip it, rotate it, do what you will as long as it is still recognisable. You don't have to use BBD images, but if you do we will giggle even more! However it must be a masculine card - one for a dude of any age and the funnier the better in our book! The top three winners along with a Top Blog winner will be announced on the challenge blog on the 12 November.

In following the sketch, I've used Time Out Tim, coloured with Promarkers with some inking around the edges with my trusty faded ink pads that I simply cannot bear to throw away! The blue backing paper has been printed from Polkadoodles Not For Girls cd (how very apt!) that I'd had in my box of bits for a while.

Polkadoodle Challenge 33 - Vintage & Stamping

Welcome to another Polkadoodle challenge! This week the challenge is being set by Fliss, who, if you are a regular visitor to her blog, that she loves vintage! So that is her theme for the week:

I've used two of the new Stamp Doodles - the shabby prim angel in a stocking and the bow with holly, both coloured with Promarkers and a titchy bit of glitter glue.

I've used papers from Not For Girls cd - printed them small (4 onto a sheet of A4) so that the grain pattern would not be lost, a bit of doodling around the edges and some buttons and the card is complete!

Super Bloke!

I've been on a roll this weekend and have made, or are in the process of making (I cannot simply start one card and see it through to completion in one go - I have to have at least 5 or 6 projects on the go!)

I've used the current challenge sketch from Digital Tuesday to make this card:


I've used an image that I bought a while ago from CraftsUPrint and is by Gordon Fraser. I've resized it then printed onto white card and coloured it with Promarkers. I've layered it onto some card from my stash which I put through the Swiss Dots embossing folder (one backwards and one the right way round!)


The backing paper is from Polkadoodles - Not For Girls cd and I think it works perfectly with this image! A little bit of doodling around the edges and some gold table confetti stars and the card is complete!

Polkadoodle Challenge 27 - Sketch & Non Male Theme

It is Friday again, so it is another Polkadoodle challenge! The weeks really are beginning to fly by and to be quite honest (and I'll say this quietly) I'm sick of making Christmas cards!

So how pleased was I when Nikky challenged the Polkadoodle Design Team to use the sketch below, to use Not For Girls cd and to make a Girlie card!!!

However, the challenge for all of blogland this week is to use the sketch and the theme of brown.


So here is my creation! I've used the brick effect paper as the main backing from Not For Girls, overlaid it with one of the 'textured' plain papers, added a sentiment strip also from the cd and printed off my own little girlie birdie and coloured her with watercolour pencils to match the colour theme.


If you look really closely, you can just about make out two little diamond gems in the corner of her sunglasses! The ribbon is from my stash and does actually match the colour scheme quite well, just the lighting in the kitchen skews it a little. The charm is a recent purchase (along with a few others!) from ebay.

Polkadoodle Challenge 26 - Sketch

It's Friday again so that can mean it's another Polkadoodle Challenge! We are already onto week 26 and it's another famous Nikky sketch for this week.

The Design Team were asked to follow the sketch and to use Not For Girls double cd.

All the elements you see here with exception to the big blue brad are all printed from the double cd. I've added a double row of faux stitching (one black and one white) around the edges plus a bit of inking and that is about it! The image that I have used can be resized to as big or small as you wish which is great!

A really simple card but effective! The DT have really excelled themselves this week and there are some excellent samples for you to have a look at on the Challenge blog!

Polkadoodle Challenge 24 - Recipe

It's Friday again and another Polkadoodle challenge! The weeks are just flying by and I really need to start to think about making more Christmas cards. But that can wait just for now! This week, Nikky has challenged the Design Team to use her brand new double cd - Not For Girls, plus a recipe of doodles, 3 brads and a stamp. So your challenge is to make a male card, use 3 brads and a stamp.

For those eagle eyed viewers out there, you will notice that I cannot count (6 brads) and that a stamp is sadly lacking. Now the first excuse, is that it looked more aesthetically pleasing to use 6 red brads. And the second excuse. I printed a sentiment from one of the sentiment sheets. And then lost it. And with time not on my side, and lack of ink I've not been able to print another.


Still, my little brother won't know it's missing as this will be his Birthday card. I am so organised - it's not until the end of December!

Rockin' Robin!

Another challenge, another sketch! This time it is Lili of The Valley, which is the following sketch:And I've used all paperbased elements of this card from the brand new very soon to be released Polkadoodle cd - Not For Girls. I've kept the card quite simple as I think the images are just so funny!

I've resized the three birdies from their original intended size so that I could use them to fit the sketch. The two coloured papers are also from the cd - there is a section of plain colours which match up with all the different elements on the cd and are great for when you don't want too much going on with the card.

The sentiment is also from the cd and I've just snipped part of it and layered it onto more backing paper. The brads are from my stash.

Bam! Comic Superhero!

Another one by the seat of my pants! This time it is the lovely Papertake Weekly Challenge which is this fab sketch:



I've used papers from the very soon to be released cd from Polkadoodles - Not For Girls - it's a male themed cd and it will be launched on Create and Craft on 1 October. As soon as I saw the backing paper I had to use it!

All the elements you see are from the cd - I've resized the 'bam' and the Happy Birthday sentiment so that they would fit the size of my card. I've simply inked the edges of everything and added it - the centre 'bam' is on 3d foam pads and the sentiment is on doubled 3d foam pads.

Perfect for the superhero in your life! The backing paper comes in various colourways too but I liked the red!

Robots are Not For Girls

I didn't think I was going to make this one in time, but I've just about managed it! The Pink Elephant Challenge is a sketch:

And I've used the brand new cd from Polkadoodles - Not For Girls, which will have its release on Thursday 1 October on Create and Craft! The cd (which you will have probably guessed by the title) is male themed - it covers sports and these cute little robots plus tonnes more! It's a double cd so you get a lot for your money!

I've printed the two different backing papers at A5 so I got a smaller detail and I've cropped a topper and sentiment so I could use them individually on my card.

A bit of inking, corner rounding and I've doodled a gold gel line around the edges, and that's more or less it! The added nuts and bolts I got from the Scrap Store ages ago and I thought they'd go well on the card.
