Cute Birdies

Just about making it on time! This is my entry for From The Heart Digi Stamps Monthly Progressive challenge using Apple Blossom Birds.  I've coloured them with Promarkers and used a rather old and faded inkpad for the background.

I've used an offcut of card for the base and layered an X Cut die cut over the top, inked the edges and then layered the image.  I've added tiny liquid pearl dots around the edge as I didn't want anything too heavy and have used organza baby blue ribbon from my stash along with a heart charm.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

CRAFT Challenge - May Guest Designer - Father's Day or Male

The month is almost at an end and this is my final challenge as a Guest Designer for CRAFT Challenges - thank you to Jo and the team for having me!  The theme this week is:

Father's Day or Male

I've used an image from The Stamping Boutique - Prince Lonnie Latte and coloured it with Promarkers.  The card base is a scrap from my stash and I've used a Clearly Besotted die for the wording which I've cut three times and then layered up.

A little bit of faux stitching around the edge of the card base with a silver gel pen and the card is complete!  Good luck with the challenge - for more details pop over to the blog.

Using Scraps

I really don't like to throw anything away and have various boxes to keep all my scraps in. However sometimes these boxes become rather unruly and I make it a priority to use something from them! For this card  I used offcuts of card stock for the base - its the long thin strip cut from a sheet of A4 from making a 13.5cm square card - and the embossed panel is a piece of scrap as well as the die cut words.

All the papers are from Funky Hand V Funky CD - Cottage Linens and I've used my trusty Spellbinders for the circles (long gone are the days when I used to use a compass and hand cut them!) plus some card candy.

The die cut words are Clearly Besotted dies and I've had to be creative with the 'day' as it was part of Birthday but I chopped it down!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Fan-Tastic Tuesday:  Add Some Texture
Party Time Tuesdays:  Anything Goes
Artistic Inspirations:  Anything Goes with twist of Die Cuts
Incy Wincy Designs:  Lot's of Layers

Dad's Day Off

I found this challenge whilst looking for something else!  Deedee's Monthly Progressive Challenge - I bought the image and here it is!

I've used Promarkers to colour and the sentiment comes with the set.  Papers are all scraps from my stash and I've had to do some clever joining up as the papers were not as one sheet!

Buttons are from my stash - the little blue one is actually from one of the boys' school tops which has seen much better days so it is now used as a rag for cleaning the kart and the buttons end up in my stash!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Cardz 4 Guyz:  Gingham / Checks
Cards In Envy:  Hey, Dude

Using Scraps

This was a lovely quick card to make!  I've used Birdbrain Brew - a From The Heart Digi Stamps image and coloured it with Promarkers.  For the 'dad' word, I've used a Clearly Besotted die and an X Cut for the stars which have been cut from left over bits of kraft card.

The papers are also scraps and are from Funky Hand - Sleigh Ride download and I think they work perfectly fine for a non Christmas card as well!

Spring Moments Gift Jar and Banner Card

And now for something a little bit different!  I've had this plastic jar a while and knew it would come in useful at some point!  I've used papers from Funky Hand - V Funky - Spring Moments and made a removable cover for the front, a flower tag for the top of the jar and also a banner thank you card.

My eldest son has written the gift tag and I've attached it to the top of the jar with a funky flower and ribbon.  I've also added glass 'confetti' to the flowers on the pattern.

The banner has been made with left over scraps of card and I've used letters from a word book as templates, threaded ribbon through the tops and used glossy accents as glue to the reverse to stop the ribbon from moving.

Crimbo Crackers - Challenge 81 - Anything Goes

Time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme is Anything Goes.

I've used this fab image from Jellypark - it's not in the store but if you email a request, I'm sure you'll be able to purchase it!  I've enlarged the image and made it into a circle card - the scalloped edges are actually heart punches that I've glued on and then covered the reverse (to make it neat) with another circle layer.

Promarkers to colour and a little glitter glue here and there!  Good luck with the challenge - you can find the full details on the blog.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments:  Cute and a Sentiment
Creative Knockouts:  Sentimentally Yours

CRAFT Challenge - May Guest Designer - Christmas But No Red or Green

Time for another CRAFT Challenge and another as the May Guest Designer.  The theme for the challenge is:

Christmas But No Red or Green

I've used an image by SLS Lines - Wine Drinker and I've made a wine bottle tag.  Image has been coloured with Promarkers plus a little glitter glue.  The wooden snowflake is from my stash along with the iridescent stars.

The oval has been cut with an X Cut die and then glittered around the edge of the image and the oval.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Moo-Mania and More:  Bottles
Ruby's Rainbow:  Humour

A Well Deserved Award

A well deserved award and a keepsake card to celebrate.  I've used the trophy digi from the Dr Digi store however, I had a little accident with a sharp pair of scissors and ended up snipping one of the handles off.  So the other one had to go through the same treatment.

Fear not, the one in the store is fully intact!

This has been made for a colleague at work and features his photos from the community from which he lives and has been awarded, the, well, award.  The two charms are from my stash - representing a camera (he takes a lot of photos of the landscape where he lives) and an alarm clock to represent the amount of time he devotes to helping the community.

Super Dad!

Such a cute stamp - From The Heart Stamps - Super Birdbrain which I've coloured with Promarkers (plus a little glossy accents on the eyes and belt clasp).

I've used rather shiny blue and silver card from my stash for layering and also the stars, for which I've used X Cut dies.  A little bit of faux stitching and the card is complete!

CRAFT Challenge - May Guest Designer - Blog Hop!

Happy Birthday To Us
Happy Birthday To Us
Happy Birthday Dear CRAFT Challenge
Happy Birthday To Us!

Can you believe it? CRAFT Challenge is already 6 years old. Originally started by Tracy from Just Tracy Crafts and with a DT mostly recruited from Trimcraft forum members (Hence the term CRAFT Challenge, which stood for Crafters Residing Are Friendly Trimmies. Or if you wished alternative meaning of Can't Remember A Flipping Thing) on the 4th of May 2009.

We have now grown to be a large team of Design Team Members from all around the world, supplemented with lots of Guest Designers who join us for a month at a time.

We have always welcomed all kinds of craft, not just paper craft (unless specifically stated so in the challenge at the time) and are happy to have such a large group of faithful followers.  So, how are we going to celebrate this milestone?

Well, how else can we celebrate than to have our yearly Blogaversary Blog Hop?  We all feature one of our sponsors for this blog hop on our blogs and I have the honour of featuring and offering a prize from the following sponsor. You can win this prize by adding your name to Inlinkz at the end of this post. I would love to see your comments as well.

The prize to be won is 2 images

How can you get to win any of the prizes provided by our sponsors?

That is easy! Just follow the route on our blog hop (you can also find that in our side banner), Our Blog Hop lasts for the duration of this challenge, which means a closing time of Wednesday 6pm GMT on 20 May 2015.

Blue For Boys - Dad

Following on from my previous post last week, I've used the same paper collection on V Funky - Blue For Boys and used the Dad topper this time.  Again, overlaid it with a slightly smaller version (happy accident!) and did a bit of paper distressing!  I've added glossy accents to the top layer of the word to give it a bit of texture.

All embellishments are from my stash including the very cute 3d car charm!  Don't forget that the CD is only £1 - an absolute bargain!

Rock n Roller

There is not much nothing more satisfying than painting a wall with a paint roller and getting that job done in a flash.  Unless you need more than one coat of emulsion to cover the dated chipboard.....

Paint Roller is in the Dr Digi Cheapies section - bargain!  Coloured with Promarkers, I've layered it all with a Spellbinder die and I've made the rolls of wallpaper from leftover scraps.  Bakers twine and bunch of keys charm all from my stash.

CRAFT Challenge - May Guest Designer - Sketch

I was lucky enough a while ago to win a CRAFT challenge and part of the prize was to join the team as a Guest Designer for May, so here is my first challenge with them!

It's a sketch to follow and for full details pop over to the CRAFT challenge blog.

The sponsor I was assigned for the challenge was Sunflowerfields and the image I've used is called Strawberry Muffin.  I've coloured it with Promarkers and found a perfect offcut of patterned paper in my stash.  Everything else is also from my stash.

I hope you can join in with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Blue For Boys - Mum

Another set of great papers from the V Funky cd!  I've used the Blue For Boys collection - and printed two sheets A5 size (the top and bottom bands are snipped in half) and then used two of the ATC sheets.

I originally printed the Mum tile direct from the cd and then printed it for a second time via the 'open' option on the cd rather than the 'run' option.  I didn't realise until I was about to layer then up that the second print was slightly smaller than the first.  However, it looks fine!  Everything else is from my stash.

Watch out for more goodness from V Funky this month!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

We Will Miss Ewe!

Flossy is always good to use for a farewell or a good luck card. Maybe its because I enjoy the play on words!  Plus its one of my Dr Digi favourites!

Coloured with Promarkers, the sign is handwritten and I've used a Memory Box die for the clouds and the picket fence is from my stash (bought a pile of the die cuts from ebay many moons ago!)  The grass is a Sizzix die cut.

Flowers

Sometimes I'm glad I have images coloured up and ready to use!  And this one from From The Heart Stamps - Mixed Bouquet - was perfect.  I've coloured the image with Promarkers and the sentiment came with the digi and I've added some half pearls to some of the flower centres.

I've used some plain card from my stash to layer the image and also sentiment plus some ribbon also from my stash to finish of the From The Heart Stamps sketch.
