Fly Me To The Moon!

The Pollycraft challenge this week is:

Fly Me To The Moon!

And here is a card I made! I've used both the spaceman and rocket templates from Polkadoodles Paper Boutique Vol 3. The little spaceman is actually one of the digi images that I've cut out and added to the front of the rocket.

All the elements are pre coloured so you just need to click and print! I've layered them up with foam pads and there is a back to the rocket too - I just forgot to take a photo of it before the card was delivered!

The number 1 is a Sizzix die cut - Round-a-Bout alphabet set and although it looks gold, it was actually silver (I blame the poor light!) The button and silver cord are from my stash.

Wobbly 18

I'm on a bit of a mission at the moment as I have quite a few cards to make in a fairly short space of time! Always the case eh?! This one fits the Pollycraft challenge which is:

Special Birthday's

All the papers are from the new Funky Hand cd - Craft the Year Away and I've used wordart to make the numbers. To make the wordbook a little different I've cut the spine a little differently and then doodled a fine black line around the edge.

The ribbon is a perfect colour match and is Tempting Turquoise from Stampin' Up. The numbers have got little die cut letters on them (Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet set) and I've added glossy accents over the top so they stand out more. The large numbers I've attached with some funky springs and then added some Birthday buttons that Enfys sent me.

So there you go! I'm also in danger of using my new purchase of glossy accents (why didn't I have these before?!) on virtually everything - so be warned!!

All Green

This is part two of Tales from Pollycraft and Flash Your Freebies! I entered the challenge last time and received this very sweet image in return so I could then continue with the progressive challenge.

The theme for the freebie is:

Green

So I've used my Promarkers and added papers from Funky Hand - Funky Daze, and yes, the bestest collection - Son Day!

A little bit of inking, faux stitching and dotting around the edges, plus a Papermania sentiment stamp, ribbon from my stash and three snaps from We R Memory Keepers.

I'm a bit tired today - took the boys to get their final bits of school uniform (except shoes - those will be nearer the start of term) in Blackburn today, and it was rude not to go in the very brand new Primark that has opened in the new shopping centre. It is HUGE and quite fantastic! I did have a good browse of the jewellery mainly for cutting down and using on projects but there was nothing that took my eye this time!

And this afternoon was the nursery party for the kids who are leaving to start school. Jacob is not normally there on a Friday so I had to stay with him (and Samuel) so that was a couple of hours of fun - it really take it out of you though!!

The Football Fan

A really quick one from me now as I know this is my third post of the day! Whilst blog hopping last night (a fatal past-time!) I spotted that Pollycraft had a little challenge:

Flash Those Freebies!

Basically to make a card using one of their freebies. Last week was this football fan and as me and the little boys are off somewhere special (and I've never actually been to one before apart from an empty one!) then this was quite apt! More of what it will be will revealed next week!!

I've coloured the image with Promarkers (I was multi tasking and watching a Dirty Harry film at the same time!) He's attached to the football (made by me with shading by the Promarkers and black card layered) with a strip of acetate so he boings around very happily!

Sentiment is computer generated and I've doodled around the edges and added some brads.

I'm so looking forward to 'the surprise' next week, and no doubt the boys would. If they knew hehehe!

Sing In The New Year!

The current Pollycraft challenge has a sketch to follow:

Which I've sort of managed to follow although I've left the sentiment off! Papers are from Now That's Funky (again using up scraps in my box!) Ribbons are from my stash (the green one, I seem to remember was from a box of chocolates - the best kind as they have ribbon!!) and I've added card candy too.

The image is from Pollycraft and I've coloured her with watercolour pencils. Sorry about the strange kinda glow on this card but I couldn't get decent lighting so its been a bit manipulated!

Hope you have a great 2010!!

I Had To Flip It

This card almost never actually happened. Firstly, I printed off the image and wasn't able to cut it out as a circle. So printed it out again. And Samuel coloured in the 'wrong one'. I then faffed about for 3 nights trying to find the right papers. And then found these in my stash that the lovely Jozza gave me the first time we met up (yonks ago) and they have been lurking there ever since. So thanks Jozza!

And then I stuck the stripy bit on the wrong side of the card and the wording was all in the wrong direction, so I had to flip the sketch to make it work.

Anyway, it's for the Pollycraft challenge which is a sketch this fortnight. And I now realise that I am missing a sentiment. Ah well. Ah, but then again - the 'let it snow' bit can be it! Yeah!

I've coloured the Pollycraft image with watercolour pencils and a bit of chalking around the edges. The papers are Dovecraft 'Naughty But Nice' 6 x 6 papers, the ribbon is new to my stash (I bought 3 lovely DIY boxes from ebay to put the 3 acrylic Wedding albums in, and they just happen to come with a big piece of brown organza ribbon. Needless to say, one of the boxes doesn't have it any more but a nice orange ribbon to match the album colour scheme!)

The button (it is underneath) is from my stash and the confetti snowflakes have put in another showing.

So there you go. A bit long winded but it's been one of those weeks!

Tangerine, Turquoise & Chocolate

The current Pollycraft challenge is a colour theme:

Tangerine, Turquoise and Chocolate

I completed their last challenge and because I managed the 5 'S' I got to pick a free download from their shop! After a lot of deliberation, I finally settled on Tyler and Piper Rockstars and used one of the images for this card.

I've used watercolour pencils for colouring with a little glitter glue on the guitar. All the card is from my stash on which I've doodled and inked the edges. The brads are from my stash too.

The sentiment is from the male Clare Curd Signature Range. The Pollycraft image was a dream to colour so watch out - I'll be using it again!

Five 'S' Words...

... is the current Pollycraft challenge! To enter the challenge you have to pick two from the five listed, but if you use all five then you get a free download image - fab eh! So naturally I went for the full five, which are:

Snowflakes, Sparkle, Spots, Stripes and Swirls

I've used papers from Funky Seasons and this is the Cold Snap collection. The stripy paper is one of the ATC papers that can be printed off from the extras. I've coloured the Pollycraft freebie image with watercolour pencils and have added glitter glue here and there and on the snowball.

The regal purple ribbon is from my stash and the snowflake confetti is too (I've recently found this at the bottom of my Christmas box so you may see more of these in the future!)
I've used the Cuttlebug d'vine swirls for the embossing and then lightly patted a blue inkpad over the top for more definition. Edges have been cornered and then inked with blue and then a very faded black.
Great image to work with too!
