Daring Card Makers - Let's Do Digi

It's Friday, 9am so time for another Daring Card Makers Challenge!  The theme this week is

Let's Do Digi

So digi papers, digi image or a combination of the two!!

I've used two different digi images - the background is a no longer available stamp from Jelly Park and the female is from Kenny K - Happy Hour which is also no longer available.  I've coloured them both with Promarkers, added sparkle to the glass and added the pavement myself.

The bags are made from offcuts of brown paper with real handles (both recycled Primark bags!) and I've added tissue paper inside for depth.  For those with keen eyes, the bag logos are Manchester City and I kept the colour theme throughout as the card was for a fan!

Colour Crazy Challenge - Week 13 - Polkadoodles

I've used a Polkadoodles stitched circles die and then ran it through an embossing folder for the background and the sentiment was created on my computer.

I've used one of the sentiments from Baked With Love Gingerbread download from Polkadoodles which I've nlarged to fit the card blank and then added flowers made with papers from the same download collection and cut them out using the Flowers 2 die from Polkadoodles

Pink Rose

The image is from Createful Heart Digis and is a freebie for those who join in with the monthly  Facebook sketch challenge.  I've coloured it up with Promarkers and the papers are all oddments that I found in my stash - Echo Park, Be Mine.

I've had to be really clever to make it look like there are no joins as some of the bits were really quite small.  And I still have some left over for another day!

The heart pearl slider I found in the jam jar of bits n bobs I have on the table (usually because I find something and can't be bothered putting it away!) and the half pearls are from my stash.

Easter Treats

I've made a little cute gift box using a Sizzix die and a sheet of rather bright yellow card that I found in my stash.  The Cuddly Critters Rabbit is from Dr Digi and I've coloured him with Promarkers.  I've added him to the lid so that when the box opens he goes with it, rather than getting stuck when trying to close it.

I found some Easter themed ribbon in my stash and added the grass with an unbranded metal die, the card are scraps from my stash.

Daring Card Makers - Back To Basics

Time for a new Daring Card Makers challenge and the theme this week has been set as

Back to Basics

So use one geometric shape and one colour!

I've used various blue papers and card from my stash (great to use up the oddments in there!) and I've embossed a few with LDRS Picnic Quilt folders.  All the squares have been cut with an X Cut die and I've added some large white half pearls I found in my stash.

The DT were challenged to an Easter project so I made some baskets for my three nieces!  Don't worry - I've not eaten all the eggs!

I've used papers from Double Sprinkles cd - I printed these papers off a long time ago and they were just sat in my stash waiting to be used!  I made the sizes based upon what papers I had and luckily they were a decent size!

Here is one of the stamps featured in the show and one one of the demos from Nikky. Beautiful clear crisp lines every time it is stamped! I've used a fancy Spellbinders die for all the panels and I've stamped onto linen effect white card and coloured with Promarkers.

Daisy Friends

And here is another sample I've made for Stampin' Unicorn!  This stamp is Daisy Friends and I've stamped it onto a watercoloured background and then used Promarkers to do a little colouring.

I've used an off cut of card for the main base and layered the stamped panel onto the darkest tone from the Wonderland 6x6 paper pack.

A dotted line with a fineliner black pen around the edge of the card base and stamped panel and the card is complete - really nice and quick to make and the stamps are wonderful to use - nice and crisp every time!

Hello Bouquet

Hope you're able to tune in to Hochanda today at 10am and 2pm as Nikky will be showcasing these wonderful Stampin' Unicorn products!  I've used Blossom Stamp Set, stamped onto two of the papers from the Butterfly Dreams 6x6 paper pack, which were odd pieces left over from previous projects as I don't like to throw any bits away!  Fussy cut out, added to the card with foam pads and then added some glass stone embellishments to the centres.

The sentiment is from the pack from a previous show - I've just added a hand drawn border around the edge and also a border around the edge of the card.

A quick card to share made using Emogeez Happy from Dr Digi - this comes pre coloured along with another Emogeez and I've simply cut it out and added it to some note pad paper.

I've used this fab digi stamp by Faith at From The Heart Stamps.  I'm not sure if the shop is still active as Faith passed away at the end of July last year.  I've coloured him with Promarkers and added him to the card with foam pads.

I've added a faux running stitch around the edge of the card with a black fine liner pen.  Good luck with the challenge!

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is:

I've made this bold card using a snowflake die cut from white card and a burgundy card background.  The bow which is from, I think a box of chocolates donated by my Mum - the bow not the chocolates! - matched the card perfectly.

I made the sentiment on the computer and then added half pearls to the centres of the snowflakes.  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Another nice quick card made with one of the Coffee Sentiments from Dr Digi and of course the Coffee Mug which I've coloured with Promarkers and then added to the Funky Hand Tea's Up download which is no longer available.

I've lightly distressed the papers and added the mug with foam pads so it stands proud a little.  Card candy from my stash.

Daring Card Makers - Getting To Know You

It's time for a new Daring Card Makers challenge and this week the theme is

Getting To Know You

So, what is your style or your favourite crafting technique?  I love making word books and turn to them time and time again and I do get asked to make them quite a lot!

Here is one I've made using a now retired and unavailable Funky Hand cd - all the pages can be printed and then made into a word.  I've just cut the 'pages' to size, layered the letters onto black card for extra depth and then added to the pages with foam pads and for a bit extra detail, added a faux stitched line around the edge.

Embroidery thread added to the bound edge and the Happy Birthday sentiment cut with a Cuttlebug die and added to a strip of acetate.  Actually quite quick to make and look great!

The DT were challenged to make something with lots of green so I've made this very green card for a keen golfer who was turning 65!  I've used the pre-coloured golfer from Work and Play 11 - and then used a Sizzix embossing folder on the large numbers, handwrote the banner (using BBQ sticks to hold it all up!)

The big letters are thick cardboard so I painted them with white acrylic paint and then used liberal amounts of glitter glue to cover them.  The grass is a Clearly Besotted die and I've coloured offcuts of card with Promarkers.

Another quick card this time using Flossy from Dr Digi - coloured with Promarkers with glossy accent eyes.  I've cut out the circles using Spellbinder dies and then added a dotted line around the edges with a black fine liner pen.  I hand wrote the sentiment.

White Butterfly

A quick card to share - I wanted to make a card for a work colleague who's just lost her Grandma.  I wanted a butterfly and something simple and fresh.  I've used two Memory Box dies - the Asti Butterfly Wings and over the top Willoughby then I've added some white half pearls to the body and also under the butterfly.

To finish, I've scored a line around the edges of the card with a freebie scoring board and folder I got with a magazine years ago.  I'd like to enter the following:

This is a Christmas / Festive only challenge.  I've made two cute treat gift boxes with a Sizzix box die - I bought a pack of A4 kraft card from ebay a while ago - its not top quality but good enough for gift boxes as its got a slight mottled pattern on it.  But its fine for what I needed!

The red discs are very glittery gift tags (I buy a lot of Christmas things in the sales that I know I can use on cards!)  And the reindeer die cuts I bought a long long time ago on ebay - I've layered them up by adding the eyes behind and colouring the antlers and ears.  I've added the glittery pom poms from my stash.

The red twine is also a previous Christmas bargain buy and I've used a Sizzix tag die to write a sentiment on.  Good luck with the challenge!
