Magical Thumbs

Do your kids spend hours on video games and end up with magical thumbs?  Then this is the perfect digi for them!  High Score Hugh is only £1 in the store.  You'll have to make up your own sound effects though!

I've coloured Hugh with Promarkers and used a template for the game controller.  The superhero sound effects are from Sassy Designs.

Age Improving

I've had this image coloured up for ages and knew I'd be able to use it someday!  It's Birdbrain Wine by From The Heart Stamps.  I've coloured it up with Promarkers and used scraps of papers from Echo Park - Summerdays.

I've added a dotted line of liquid pearls around the edges and used a Spellbinders die for the layer behind the image.  Sentiment comes with the digi and I've used a charm and embroidery thread from my rather alarming large collection!

And I've just learnt how to add watermarks to my images!  I'd like to enter the following challenges:

So Bunny Cute!

I'm feeling quite impressed with myself as I am rather organised for Easter! I've used the cute From The Heart Stamps progressive monthly challenge digi image freebie - Easter Trio, although I've only used the bunny image and made these cute pouches which I've filled with little eggs!

I've used 3 sheets of linen effect white card (cut lengthways into two) and then embossed with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, punched holes in the top to tie the ribbon through and then added a little Sizzix tag with a letter initial for the recipient (which has been glittered) and then the image.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and added glossy accents to the eyes and noses and to add to the pouch, I used foam pads for some definition.

Polkadoodles Challenge Week 13 - Use A Die

Time for a new Polkadoodles challenge!  The theme for the fortnight is:

Use A Die

This was a special Birthday card for a Manchester City mad lady I made for a work colleague - I used the Work and Play Footballer Girl digi stamp and coloured her up with Promarkers.  The digi is great to use as you can resize as big as you like!  For extra strength, I added stiff card once I coloured the image to the reverse.

I've got lots of offcut strips of card from making square card blanks so I've used up some of the remnant's for the card base.  The die used is the grass Sizzix die and I hand wrote the Birthday flag.  Good luck with the challenge!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 77 - To You Both

There is a new Crimbo Crackers challenge for this fortnight and the theme is:

To You Both

As always, the creation needs to be Christmas or Festive and here is mine.  I've used papers from Polkadoodles (who is the challenge sponsor) plus image from the same cd - Work and Play 5 - Festive Hollibobs which I've coloured with Promarkers.

The poinsettia is from my stash along with ribbon, baker twine and charm.  Good luck with the challenge!

Monster!

I hope you can see just how much fun I had making this! I used just one paper from the Wake Up Year section on Funky Seasons - its not quite a full sheet of A4 and I printed directly onto some linen effect cardstock so the linen effect of the papers works really well with the cardstock (hope you followed that!)

Eyes are made from large wobbly eyes and two different inked circles - teeth are punch hearts and I've just made the dip in the centre longer.  The mouth flaps open to give the card a bit more character.

Letters are Sizzix die cuts and I've glittered them.  Cute eh?!

Thank Ewe

Sometimes you just need to say 'thank you' and who better to help than Flossy from Dr Digi?!  One of my work colleagues brought home made pizzas in for lunch courtesy of her Italian Dad and so I made a Thank Ewe card for us all to sign.

Flossy has been coloured with Promarkers, the sentiment is a Clearly Besotted die that I've layered up and pre coloured the card with Promarkers before cutting.  Fluffy cloud die is a Memory Box, fence is from my stash and the grass is a Sizzix die.

Too Much Chocolate.......

Is not something that will ever be said in my house!!  I've been quite thrifty with this card - the patterned papers are left over strips from making a wordbook - Funky Hand - Retro Fun Word Book and the ribbon manages to hide the gap and the fact that the pattern doesn't match up!

The image is From The Heart Stamps - Chocolate Bunny Birdbrain and I've coloured it with Promarkers.  The sentiment also comes with the digi and I've added a faux running stitch around the edges of the card, papers, image and sentiment.

The sand timer charm is from my stash along with the ribbon, embroidery thread and half pearls.

Simply Create Too - Challenge 81 - Midway Inspiration

The current Simply Create Too challenge is half way through and the theme is:

Easter / Bunnies

Now how about this for a cute bunny!!  It's a Jellypark decoupage image that can be bought from CraftsUPrint.  I've used blue papers from my stash, added liquid pearl dots around the edges along with half pearls.

The ribbons and charm are also from my stash and I've used an X Cut fancy die for the inner layer.  Each of the layers of the bunny have been cut out and then built up with foam pads - really easy to use and a great price!

Good luck with the challenge!

Spring Whispers

This is a really quick and easy card to make - I've used the 'extra's' tab on the Funky Seasons cd - these are the ATC's and you get a sheet of different patters which are perfect to use as scraps.

This one uses the Spring Whispers section and I've simply used a few different dies - X Cut for the circles, Clearly Besotted for the 'mum' word and Cuttlebug for the flowers, plus covered chipboard butterflies with scraps of papers plus half pearls.

Add some ink and a gel pen to dot around the edges and card is complete!

Coventry Climax

First Place Phil (shown here in splendid glorious technicolour from Dr Digi) wishes he was back in the day and racing with a Coventry Climax engine.  However, Phil being Phil, he would have probably ended up with a racing fork-lift truck rather than a sleek purring machine!

First Place Phil is available to buy just as he is from Dr Digi, the Coventry Climax postcard is from a vintage magazine.

Flappy Birthday!

I coloured this image quickly yesterday morning as trying to get a lot done - luckily the From The Heart Stamps images are always lovely and quick to colour!  I've used Flappy Birthday Birdbrain but just used the middle birdbrain and coloured it with Promarkers.

Two Spellbinder dies and all papers are from Echo Park - Summerdays.  The sentiment is also from the digi stamp set and I found the felt flower in my stash and it matched the lime green in the papers perfectly.  Just the job!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 76 - No Printed Paper

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge! The theme for this challenge is No Printed Paper and I've used a very cute From The Heart digital stamp - Angel Joy and printed directly onto the white linen effect cardstock and then coloured with Promarkers and a little bit of glitter glue.

The sentiment is part of the digi stamp pack and I've rounded the corners and that's it!  Good luck with the challenge - deadline is Wednesday 25 March at 12noon GMT.

Mothering Sunday

Ok, so it's not actually today, but this is a reminder that IT IS CLOSE BY! I made this card with my Mum specifically in mind. And yes, I do have a feeling that the Last Will and Testament will be changed after she opens this little beauty. Mind you, as her daughter, I could end up looking just like her.....

But I would certainly opt for a mauve rinse.  Bath Time Deirdery is available in the Dr Digi store!  Image coloured with Promarkers, Clearly Besotted die and half pearls from my stash.

A Friend and Chocolate

I've had this image printed for some time but just not done anything with it.  That is until I saw the I Heart Card Sketches challenge for the week and knew it would be perfect!  The image is Chocolate Box Birdbrain which is From The Heart Stamps.  I've coloured it with Promarkers and added a little glitter to the bow on top of the box.

I've used my very worn but trusty little blue inkpad for the shading on the image and around the edges.  Ribbon, charm, buttons and bakers twine are all from my stash and the sentiment is part of the digi stamp.

Cute and Perfect For ...

... A few carefully chosen chocolates!  This little cutie is really easy and quick to make - its from Funky Hand - the Funky Seasons cd - Spring Collection - Wake Up Year; click on the 'Extras' section and a, well, section of extra's appears!  And you can print off this little bag - all you need to do is cut, score and glue.

I've added a few extras - the little flowers plus ribbon and I printed on the reverse of the bag with a contrasting paper. For reinforcement, I added contrasting handles.  Just perfect for Mother's Day!

Quite true really! At least it makes you temporarily forget just how many years! But then the morning hangover reminds you that you are no spring chicken!  Sentiment is from the Birthday Sentiments sheet in the Dr Digi store.

Papers are from Funky Hand - Little Princess download and everything else is from my stash - X Cut fancy die used.

Jellypark Challenge - One For The Mums

The last ever Jellypark challenge has launched - Jellypark are closing their doors after 4 years of challenges and I'm really quite sad about it as I've been part of the team from day 1.  The store will remain but not sure for how long so if there are any stamps you've been after, now is the time to make that purchase.

The theme for the challenge is One For The Mums and I've used this cute Bath Girl digi stamp - all yours for just £1.50.  Coloured with Promarkers, I've used a fancy X Cut die then layered it onto an offcut of card that I coloured to match the papers with Promarkers.

Papers I found in my stash so not got a clue where from!  They were the perfect size as I'm trying to use up all the offcuts of cardstock from when I make square cards.  Ribbon is also from my stash and the 'mum' wording is a Clearly Besotted die which is no longer listed on the website but 'mother' is (and its only £2.50!)  To finish it off I've added some half pearls from my rather extensive stash!

Good luck with the Jellypark challenge!

Lots o' Luck

This is one of those cards that I like to make, but don't really as it means that someone is leaving. There are going to be a few departures from where I work in March so trying to be prepared for when they happen. I've used the lovely Wee Bit and Lots O Luck digi by From The Heart Stamps.  Coloured with Promarkers and added some half pearls to the centres.

Embossed panel is a Cuttlebug folder - Swiss Dots, added some Card Candi that I found in my stash plus some ribbon I bought in bulk from ebay (well, it was cheap and lots of colours from China!)  The shaped bit down the side is made with a heart punch - nothing fancy!
