Dude Time Doodles - 31 October Blog Hop with a Bang!

It's time for the last Wednesday of the Month Blog Hop over at Dude Time Doodles and usually we celebrate by showing off the new releases, however this month we are doing something a little different!  We are celebrating two years of Dude Time Doodles and I've been there from the start so the last two years really have gone fast!

And what better way to celebrate than to have a sale!  You'll find 50% off all Christmas images in the store from now until the 13 November!  I've used Tangled which is one of the images with 50% off!  And the main image in the store on the front page is one of my cards too!!!

We're still having the blog hop, so, if you've arrived at me from Kevin then you are on the right track although there is no start or finish point - just as long as you work your way through each of the blogs and leave us a comment at each point then you'll be in with a chance of winning! After you have left me a comment, pop over to Mags.

I've coloured my tangled guy with Promarkers plus the lights are all stickles - you just can't see it too well!  I've added a stamped sentiment (Papermania and shame on me - I've had the stamps over a year and just inked them up now!!) plus a Marianne Creatables snowflake.

Papers are from Funky Hand - Christmas Tree download which is part of the Oh Come All Ye Crafters collection, and the little dinky lights I've had for years and just like to look at them rather than use them.....!!

So good luck with the hop and hope you have a little shopping spree at the store - perfect for the pesky men at Christmas!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Holly Jolly Christmas:  O Christmas Tree
Die Cuttin' Diva's:  Anything Goes

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 36

It's time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge!  And here is the sketch:

I've gone quite simple with my sample and used a kraft card base and added pearls to each curve point.  The strip of paper across the middle (and yes it is actually straight in real life - I didn't quite put the card on the easel straight to take the photo -doh!) is from a Funky Hand cd.

I've added some more half pearls, some organza ribbon from my stash and I've made the felt flowers with a Die-Namics Rolled Rose die set that I have.  The stamp was a magazine freebie from a few years ago.

So there you go - a sketch great for a quick card!  To enter the challenge or to find out more, go to Fetch A Sketch!

Polkadoodle Challenge 43 - Christmas Card and some Kraft!

It's time for another Polkadoodle challenge!  The theme is:

Make A Christmas Card and Add Some Kraft

I've used a kraft card base, inked the edges (to hide my rubbish cutting!) and added faux stitching around the edges.  Sentiment is a stamp from the not yet released Pen and Paper Circle edition 5 (get yours ordered now!)

I've made the stocking from my own template and papers from Here Comes Christmas.  Ribbon from my stash and not a bit of glitter in sight!!

Good luck with the challenge and don't forget that we have a US and European DT call out at the moment - so get your applications in!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 27 - Shaped and Pink!

It's time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge!  The theme this fortnight (continuing the Breast Cancer Awareness theme too)is:

Shaped and a hint of pink

I've made a rather sparkly and pink star card!  The papers are all from the new Funky Hand download - Santa Baby which is part of the Oh Come All Ye Crafters collection of downloads.  The star shape is one that I've made myself and apart from a little bit of tricky cutting out, its really easy to make.

I've layered a contrasting paper underneath although you can't see it too well on the photo!  I've used a lot of glitter glue plus I've coated the Marianne Creatables snowflake die cuts with glossy accents and then added some freebie purple / pink glitter I got with a magazine last year and then some other more white glitter over the top.

And yes, I'm still finding bits of glitter here and there!  The little stars are table confetti that I added to fill the gaps.  The snowflakes and little stars have been added with foam pads for extra lift.

Good luck with the challenge!

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 35 Midway Extra

It's time for the Midway Extra post for Fetch A Sketch and here is a reminder of the current sketch as set by Jenny:

Our sponsor for this challenge is Cuddly Buddly and there is a £10 gift certificate to spend in the store for the winner!

And here is my creation - I've used a cute digi from the store, coloured it with Promarkers and cut out two ovals using my X Cut dies with printed paper I found in my overflowing shoe box.  I've glittered the edges for a bit of bling.

So that's it - a simple and easy card!  Good luck with the challenge!

Jellypark Challenge - Pink ABC

It's time for another Jellypark challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

Anything But A Card and make it Pink!

I've made a bookmark and now that I look at it, there is not a great deal of pink - blame the sky for that!  I've used the cute digi stamp Rabbit and Balloon which is a Little Havens charity stamp so each stamp that you buy at £1.25 each you raise funds for Little Havens!

I've coloured the image with Promarkers but for the background I've used watercolour pencils.  A dotted line has been added around the edge of the bookmark and I've layered it onto some pink card.

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Get Funky Challenge - Kids Christmas

I'm pleased to say that my hip is feeling a lot better thanks to some over the counter anti-inflammatories that I bought from Sainsbury's!  It's still hurting but nowhere near as bad as it was.

It's my turn to show some inspiration for the current Get Funky challenge which is:

Kids Christmas

I'm quite organised with making the special family Christmas cards this year and I've used the not yet released Winter Wonderland Wordbook download which is part of the O Come All Ye Crafters Christmas Collection from Funky Hand.

I've simply printed the letters I required (and printed a plain paper on the reverse) then cut them out and layered them up.  I've glued the 'book' end bit together and added a little bit of ribbon to cover it.  I've glittered the edges of the letters and added three Marianne Creatable snowflakes which have also been glittered.

Really quick and easy to make!  Good luck with the challenge - you must use a Funky Hand product in your creation and to help you, there is always a freebie available that fits in with the monthly challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Dude Time Doodles Challenge - Halloween

I'll keep this post short and sweet as I am in agony sitting down.  My right hip is really playing me up - that's what happens when I stand for an hour in the cold on a Saturday morning watching Jacob play football.  And I should have moved around a little. A few months ago it was my left hip from standing still in the cold for 2 hours waiting for the Olympic torch to pass through Blackburn town centre.

The Dude Time Doodles challenge this week is:

Halloween

And I've made a bookmark with Grim Grisham who has been coloured with Promarkers and then added to a tombstone shaped offcut of black card.  I've drawn the cracks on with a white gel pen.

Don't forget to check out the other Design Team samples and good luck with the challenge!

And Jacob's team lost 10-5.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 35

I've had one of those weekends where the best laid plans just went west!  I had planned to work from home on Friday instead of going to the office, which was a good job as Samuel woke up with a sore tummy and then was unable to keep anything down all day including water.  He was a rather odd shade of green too and did a good job of co-ordinating with his combat pj's!

So my plans for having an afternoon of colouring at my parents whilst the boys were entertained (Jacob was planning on practicing the keyboard as he's now doing keyboard lessons at school and I think Samuel would have done some baking) just did not happen on Saturday.  Jacob had a football match in the morning (they lost 5-10) so he needed a bath when we got home (and I got bit by midgies so I look a bit like I have chicken pox......) and then I had to go and do the food shopping which should have been done Friday night.

In between running here there and everywhere and trying to catch up on the washing, I did manage a little bit of crafting but nowhere as much as I anticipated!  Samuel is now fine and his appetite is back to normal so just waiting to see who gets it next as its rife at school!  I'm hoping that if it is me, I'm still well enough to craft!

Anyway!  It's time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge! This fortnight, Jenny has set the sketch and because it is October we are also asking for some pink to be added. here is the sketch:

We are also sponsored by Cuddly Buddly - I am a big fan of their customer service (which is second-to-none!) and they have a great physical and digital product range!  The winner of this challenge will have £10 to spend instore!

I've used one of the digi's from the store and coloured it with Promarkers plus some stickles here and there.  Papers are from my stash - can't remember the make as they've been lying around for some time!

I've used an X Cut die for the fancy shape and added a pink gel pen dotted line around the edges, some ribbon from my stash, along with a little button slider and some pearls. I've dotted liquid pearls around the edges of the card and the two central panels.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details pop over to Fetch A Sketch!

Polkadoodle Challenge 41 - Halloween

Welcome to another Polkadoodles challenge!  It's a great theme this week:

Halloween

And I've made these little sweet pouches.  Papers are from the Polly Witchydoodles download and I've simply cut out two oblong strips from one sheet of A4 card (printed on both sides) and then used my X Cut star die to cut out the front.

I've tied the top with string and added the cut out star as a tag along with one of the images from Sundae of Seasons cd.  Pretty quick and easy to make!  I've added jelly fangs in the cello bag inside the pouch.  And yes, they have already been eaten!

Good luck with the challenge - for more details pop over to the challenge blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Simply Create Too Challenge 24 - Pumpkins

It's time for another Simply Create Too challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

Pumpkins

I've gone for the cute angle and used a Jellypark digi - Boy In Halloween Pumpkin Costume and coloured it with Promarkers.  He's been added to the card with foam pads so he stands out a little.

The papers are from Carina Gardner - Haunted collection and I've used black card from my stash to layer plus some twine and some bat confetti.

Good luck with the challenge and to see the rest of the teams samples and also how to enter, just go to Simply Create Too!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 26 - Pink

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge!  And the theme this fortnight is:

Pink

Because October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  I have a fab sponsor for this challenge:

And Anice has giving the winner of this challenge this Our Betty stamp set - thanks Anice!

If you've not visited Funky Hand recently then you'll not know about the fab new Christmas themed downloads that you can buy as part of the Oh Come All Ye Crafters collection.  There are 8 paper and 8 wordbook collections in total plus digi stamps and all are being released over the coming weeks.  And even better, you can buy the same themed paper and wordbook collection as a bundle and saving you money!

I've used the Santa Baby paper collection for my pink festive Christmas stocking and I'm feeling rather pleased with myself as this is one Christmas card I can tick off the family list!  This one will be for my niece Niamh who will be three at the end of November and is not really a pink little girl but I'm sure she will like all the sparkle and glitz on this card! Plus I don't get chance to indulge much in my pink side with having two boys - any excuse eh?!
I've used my own stocking template and added glitter glue to all the edges.  The snowflake is a Marianne Creatables die and I've covered it with glossy accents and then sprinkled glitter on it.  The beads and silver string came from a roll of fab ribbon from Lidl - its three strands all in one and they can be separated too - great value for money!

Good luck with the challenge and for more details pop over to Crimbo Crackers!

Breast Cancer Ribbon

Here is the second of two new digi stamp releases from Jellypark.  This one is called Breakthrough Breast Cancer Ribbon and all proceeds from the sale of the digi stamp will go to the charity.  And at only £1.25 you won't break the bank and you'll be supporting a very worthwhile charity!

I've coloured it with Promarkers and added liquid pearls to the little hearts (there was no way it wasn't going to splodge!) and I've added it to the nestie scallop tag with foam pads.

I've used off cut of card from a wordbook project and the download is Santa Baby, part of the Come All Ye Crafters collection from Funky Hand - I really don't like throwing the strips away!!  To hide the unprinted side, I've stuck two scalloped circles together and then added the eyelet.  I've inked the edges with a very old and on its last legs pink ink pad and then added a line of liquid pearl dots around the edge.

And I know, I should have ironed the ribbon before I dressed the tag.  But ironing and me - hello??!!

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 34 - Midway Extra

We are at the point of the midway part of the current Fetch A Sketch challenge and Lou has set this fab sketch and because it is October we are having a pink theme!  So follow the sketch and add some pink!
I've raided my overflowing box of bits to make this card - the pink dotted paper is from Funky Hand - Rainbow Polkadots download and I've added ribbons from my stash along with half pears, a tag I found (Sizzix die cut) and another of those rather blingy dangly gems!

So you see - not a difficult sketch at all!  Good luck with it and for more details and how to enter, pop over to Fetch A Sketch!

Song In Your Heart

Here is the first of two new releases from Jellypark - Song In Your Heart - and the sales from the stamp will be donated to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.  So you are not only getting a fab digi stamp for a very reasonable £1.25, you'll also be supporting a very worthwhile charity!

There is also another stamp that is raising funds too and I'll blog my creation in a few days - drip feeding the Jellypark goodness!

I've coloured the image with Promarkers and added a little glitter glue and liquid pearls here and there.  Papers are Samantha Walker - Retro Roadtrip and I've added two Sizzix heart dies and a random flower and brad I found in my stash which as luck would have it, matched the colour scheme perfectly!

A bit of faux stitching around the edges of the card and its complete!

So go on, treat yourself to a Jellypark digi stamp (and a few more!) and help to raise funds for Breast Cancer - October is Pinktober just in case you didn't know!

World Card Making Day 2012

Today is World Card Making day and to celebrate Claire at Jellypark is offering a time limited freebie - go to the Jellypark Challenge blog to snag it - and here is what I've made with it!

It comes with a sentiment but I found I didn't have enough room to add it!  I've coloured the image with Promarkers and used one of my fancy X Cut dies to cut it out, adding a dotted fineliner around the edge.

The papers are Samantha Walker - Road Trip and I've added some faux running stitch around the edges of the papers plus some ric rac ribbon, half pearls and a wonderful crotcheted flower from Dottie Red.

The sky went very wrong on the image but I don't think it looks too bad now - sort of blends in with the theme of the papers, a kind of shabby chic sky!

A busy day ahead - Jacob has a cadet kart session then we have to hot foot it to his football match in Accrington, 10am kick off and then both boys have a football party to go to later in the day.......  We've had really heavy rain and hail overnight so I'm not sure if the football match will still be on as the pitch is probably not in the best state!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Jellypark Challenge - Pink It Up!

Time for another Jellypark challenge!  October is officially Pinktober amongst the Jellypark girlies and because of this we want to see your creations that:

Pink It Up!

I seem to be on a roll again with the rather quick and very pretty pre printed backgrounds from Cuddly Buddly and I've added a line of liquid pearls around the edge of the card and also the image.

The image is a previous Jellypark club freebie (see what you are missing out on!) and she's been coloured with Promarkers and her dress has been spotted with liquid pearls too.  She is a cutie!

If you didn't manage to get hold of the image, don't worry, but you will have to be patient!  It will be available to buy at some point in the future in the Jellypark shop.  If you sign up right now to the Jellypark club there are a bundle of freebies available but be quick!

Simply Create Too Challenge 23 Midway Extra - Autumn

We are at the halfway point of the current Simply Create Too challenge and the theme is:

I've once again gone for a quick and easy option (plus I thought the colours really fitted the challenge!) and used a card panel from Cuddly Buddly.  The image is from The Stamping Boutique and I think it may have been retired as I can't find it!

I've coloured the image with Promarkers and splodges of stickles.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details go to Simply Create Too!

Papers are from Funky Hand and I've made the star shape myself (and rather pleased with myself that it actually stands up fine too!)  The stars have been cut with my fab X Cut die and I've printed the sentiment from my pc.

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 34

It's time for another challenge at Fetch A Sketch and Lou is our hostess this fortnight!  The sketch she has drawn is below and because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month we are also asking for your creation to show some pink!
I do like nice and simple sketches and also ones where you don't always need to add an image!  I've used Echo Park Be Mine Papers along with some wide satin pink ribbon from my stash, some silver cord and a dangly blingy gem!  The silver cord and gem are from a ribbon spool from Lidl which I bought in the January sale - the spool actually has 3 different ribbons intertwined on it along with some gems and beads!
The half pearls are from my stash.  Good luck with the challenge and don't forget the pink!  For more details on the challenge and for more inspiration, pop over to Fetch A Sketch!
