Sledging and Snow Angels

Pictures from yesterday when we went sledging with one of Jacob's classmates who lives just down the road from us. We are lucky to have this decent hill a few minutes walk from us.


The snow was a bit rubbish for snowballs and building snowmen as it was too powdery and stuck more to us!
And Jacob was insistent on making a snow angel!

We lasted an hour and half!

We Really Do Have Snow!

It's been snowing! Again! It took me almost 3 hours to do a 60 mile round trip to nursery and work this morning and I didn't even make it to work - I ended up turning around (just) and heading back home.

It snowed constantly for around 9 hours and we had quite a bit of snow - at least enough to have a few snowball fights and to make a snow trophy:

A substantial snowman on the front garden (complete with snapped carrot from the snowman just before Christmas that had only just melted!)

And a snowman in the back garden!

Samuel's school has been closed for the day and is also shut tomorrow and I think that unless the weather drastically improves (melts and not freezes!) I will be working from home again tomorrow!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 6 - Snow Much Fun

And here is the last challenge I'll be entering for the week! And this one is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge Number 6!

The challenge is:

Snow Much Fun
We would like you to make a Christmas card what features snow in some way,it can be papers, brads, embossing what ever you like as long as we can see snow and of course
at least one penny black image as always its entirely up to you what you make - card, atc, altered art etc..

I'd been mulling this one over all week as I'd already coloured the image with my watercolours but couldn't get the layout or background right. Anyway, I found the backing paper (which I think is actually posh wrapping paper!) in my stash and decided to use it. Added some little white eyelets through which the fluffy wool was threaded (stuck on the reverse with tape to stop them coming back through) and finally cut the word 'snow' using my Cuttlebug Baby Face alphabet.

I think the card is a bit flat which is a result of my wanting to use that particular image! Ah well, at least I know for next time! Sorry for wonky photo too!
