WIP - The Last of the Place Cards

Now, with a bit of luck, this shall be the last of the Wedding Place Cards that I have to make for some time! I made 105 of these, and now have just completed 101 of the ones below. The Place Cards will complement the Wedding Invitations and the Evening Invitations and are for the August Wedding.

And even though I bought 91 metres of the 16mm brown satin ribbon from Ribbon Oasis, I ran out! So have just bought some more - fantastic service and a lovely pouch of freebie ribbon too - thank you Ribbon Oasis!

So, what is left to do for the July Wedding? I need to complete the four Bridesmaid Thank You cards (virtually completed) and then make 100 Order of Service and then the Table Plan. Should keep me out of mischief for a while eh?!

More WIP

Another work in progress - this just shows the detail as I don't want to reveal too much yet!

This has been a bit of a slow burner project. I knew exactly what papers I was going to use (Patti Picklicious) and what I was going to print it all on - some lovely lovely felt ivory thick card. And that was it! I found these pearl topped pins when I was looking for something else - I do like it when that happens! I've added the seed beads because the pin itself looked a bit naked.

This one will form part of a set for my swop partner in Silkie Sue's Freestyle Blog Swop. I've got other colours on the go and another layout, and come hell or high water, these will be completed and in the post on Monday!

But, I like them so much, I could, just be tempted to make myself some. Not to use. Nooooooo! For me to look at!

So, once Nicola has received these in the post - I shall reveal all!!

Sometimes ...

... I just can't get everything done that I want to. It's been a difficult week at times - work has been demanding and I've had trouble concentrating with competing demands. And I've been making what feels like millions of Wedding Invitations! Not just one Wedding - but two!

One lot is practically completed; just waiting for the final details to go inside and I've made a reasonable dent in the second batch of invitations. I'll be sharing some photos of them early next week as its near impossible to take a realistic photo of dark chocolate brown pearlescent card without daylight!

And I'm also trying to make sufficient Valentine cards as I'm already getting requests for them.

Plus I have a birthday card to make and get it sent by the end of next week (yes, that would be the 30 January hehehehe!)

So, if you're wondering why I'm a bit light on the challenges this week - that is why! However, I have managed the Christmas Cards All Year 'Round January Challenge (I did make these right at the start of the month but thought it very unsporting if I blogged them too early in the month) and those will be shared next week.

Perhaps it will be 'business as usual' next week? Who knows?!!

WIP - Camper Van Swop

Although I've not done any challenges for a few days, I have been working on other things! One of those other things is the Camper Van Swop. As my swop partner is also in the process of 'doing' I can only show where I am upto at the moment.

I'm still a little undecided as to how it will all come together and it could involve ribbon! So watch this space for what I finally come up with!

All Is Revealed!! Part Deux!

And here are the little thank you books in more detail! I went through the hundreds of photos that we have of Samuel from being a little tiny new born right up to a few weeks ago and I picked out my favourite ones (some you will see repeated on each of the books as I really like the photo!)

Front covers - the sentiments are attached via an eyelet and then fibres or ribbon are tied through the top and through the binding.

First pages - Samuel shown as a tiny baby and then a little bit older

And now around a year old and just before his second birthday holding Jacob

Finally with more recent photos

And the back of the books have been embellished with ribbon.

  • Backing paper: Funky Seasons
  • Embellishments: Various, including: foam flowers, prima flowers, ribbon, gems, acrylic flowers and brads

While I Pee - Part 2

And here is the second installment of my current work in progress. Actually, I tell a little lie. I have completed them, but realised you'd not seen the next installment, so here it is!

Any more guesses?! I'll share the finished articles with you over the next few days!

While I Pee (or Work In Progress)

I never knew what WIP stood for, so I decided it would be While I Pee. And then I found out. Heheheheh! Well, its similar I suppose.

These are little somethings that I am currently working on. Expertly bound, I may add, by Lynsey and her super Bind-It All Machine.

Can you guess what they are going to be? Apart from the obvious, little book!
