Crimbo Crackers Challenge - No Designer Paper

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is No Designer Paper. The challenge is sponsored by the fab Dr Digi! I've used the Xmas Pud digi (bargain at 50p!) coloured it with Promarkers and added glossy accents to the berries.

I've cut down a kraft card blank and made the card into a gift card - there is a little pouch inside for the gift card to be added.

The little letters are from my stash as I felt it 'needed something!'

Good luck with the Crimbo Crackers challenge - for more details pop over to the blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Digi Stamps 4 Joy: Anything Goes

Pudding

You can almost smell it. No, not the sprouts but the fantastic Christmas Pudding!! And unlike most Christmas Puds, this digi can be bought all year around and for the bargain price of 50p from Dr Digi! Go on - you know you want to!

Great for those pesky male cards too! I've used a kraft card blank and coloured the pud with Promarkers and added some ribbon I bought from Lidl!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

C is for Challenge: Traditional Christmas
Crafty Boots: Christmas
Melonheadz: Christmas
That Craft Place: Christmas
The Ribbon Girls: Ho Ho Ho Christmas

Figgy Pudding!

Yum! Figgy Pudding! I've had these stamped images lying around in my stamped box for probably a year! The stamp set is from Woodware (which again I don't think they produce any more) and it was generously donated to me from Kath some time ago and I'm shamed to say that this is the first time I've actually made something with them! There is another sentiment in the set plus a few other little stamps too.

Coloured with Promarkers and I've used some of my Nesties to create the shapes. Bit of inking and some faux stitching and tiny black dots around the image and the card is complete! Oh, and the bloke ribbon is from my stash - all the more blingy stuff just didn't look right!

The papers are from Mad About Cards download that I've had for a few years and just love them! I've followed the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge but have used the background circles as my foreground.

The card also fits the following challenges:

Winter Wonderland: Foods of Christmas
Shopping Our Stash: UFO - UnFinished Objects
Crafts and Me Challenges: Stamp Something
Oldie But A Goodie: Lots of Layers (and stamp older than 6 months)

  • Papers: Mad About Cards
  • Images and Sentiment: Woodware stamps coloured with Promarkers
  • Dies: Spellbinder Nestabilities
  • Everything else: My stash

Polkadoodle Challenge 44 - Quick Christmas Card

It's Friday again so that can only mean one thing - time for another Polkadoodle Challenge! This week the lovely Jenny has set a great challenge (girl after my own heart here!) of:

Quick and Easy Christmas Cards

And because I enjoyed the challenge so much, I made a batch! Well, it was easy enough to print the same image from Sundae of Seasons a number of times, plus the red spotty paper from the same cd!

I managed to make 3 cards from a sheet of A4 so it gives you an idea of the size of the cards (roughly 10cm square). I've simply added the Christmas pud with foam pads, inked the edge of the card, doodled a black line and then added red gems on the berries and Liquid Pearls to accent the drippy topping.

Really quick and easy cards to make! Good luck in entering the challenge - you have until Sunday 14 November at 12noon GMT and please remember our 10 challenge rule!

  • All paperbased elements: Sundae of Seasons
  • Everything else: My stash

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 21 - In The House

I do like the Cute Card Thursday challenges as I can use anything!

The challenge this week is to make a card with the theme of 'In The House' , anything which can be found in the home is fine.

I'd already had the card stock ready - left over from last year (I'd printed it, looked at it, put it down, looked at it again and then ran out of time). I've chalked the edges of the card - lightly hammered cream card, on which the backing has been printed directly - its a Christmas download from Mad About Cards. The Christmas Pudding recipe sentiment is also from the same collection and has been layered onto matt gold card.
The two embellishments I have made myself from fimo. The Christmas Pudding turned out a little chunkier than I imagined, so I am now on the look-out for a cheap pasta sheet making machine!

I tried to make the holly and berries from fimo but it was far too fiddly and the holly looked more like a strange green blob, so I've punched them from green card and red glitter card.

  • Backing paper - Traditional Christmas download from Mad About Cards
  • Embellishments - Handmade by me and available from September to buy from Tip Top Toppers
  • Ribbon - Thin ruby red satin ribbon from Blackburn market
