Cuteabled Again & Arty Girlz Sampler!

Monday saw a good start to the week, crafting wise, as I'd been featured again on Cuteable! During October anything pink can be submitted to Cuteable for inclusion on specific pink posts - and here is my inclusion!

And then I noticed on Wednesday that I'd been featured on the Arty Girlz sampler for the Red challenge (mine is the last one on the second row).
And I've just noticed as gone onto Cuteable that I have been featured AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it's my Not Square card!!
Who-hoo!! And very big thank you to Lynsey for all the exposure (in a manner of speaking!) on Cuteable!

Be Warned - It's A Bit Red! Arty Girlz Challenge 54

I did warn you that its a bit on the red side! But that is what the Arty Girlz Challenge wanted!

This weeks challenge is to use the colour RED on your creations, as always interpret the theme as you choose
A quick and easy card to make - an another one that I knew straight away what I was going to do. Oh how I like it when that happens!! I cut some of the high gloss red card (got loads of it!) into 4 squares so they would overlap in the centre, which would be covered by the ribbon, and then ran them through my Cuttlebug embossing folders - Snowflakes and Swiss Dots. Stuck them to the card stock and added the ribbon. I quite like the simplicity of this card although its a bit on the loud side!

  • Red card: High gloss red card from my stash
  • Embossing Folders: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and Snowflakes
  • Ribbon: Snowflake ribbon from my stash but suspect it came from Lynsey as I don't remember buying it! Red satin ribbon certainly from my stash!

Arty Girlz - It's Our Birthday Challenge!

This is actually a commissioned card by Lisa for her friend who will be 40 soon. The brief was to do an 80's theme hence the white shoes, pink legwarmers and citrus colours! Oh, and the recipient loves paper crafting and shopping!

I thought it would fit nicely with the Arty Girlz current challenge:

...create something for a Birthday so could be a card or a gift, even a layout of a birthday ~ anything you like as long as its associated with a birthday

I layered the numbers, after cutting them out with a thin border, which had been printed over the backing paper, onto bright yellow card and used glitter paint around the edges for a bit of bling and definition. The little person is all Sizzix die cuts with some adaptations, plus beads, gems and ribbon for the leg warmers and rah-rah skirt.

  • Backing paper: Funky Hand - Now That's Funky cd
  • Flowers: Prima Esprit
  • Brads: Making Memories brights
  • Ribbons: All from my stash
  • Little Person: All Sizzix die cuts plus my own creations
  • Other Bits: All from my stash

Arty Girlz Challenge 49 - Summer & It's Bikini Time Again!

Arty Girlz Challenge number 49 is 'Summer'

And because I'd enjoyed making the Minty Madness bikini earlier in the week, and because I have quite a few friends' birthdays in September (and I need to get myself organised with their cards!) I decided to have another go at making the bikini cards.

Both cards are virtually the same so its easy enough to show the front and back of the cards.

And as luck would have it, the freebie Prima flowers that came with the Papercraft Inspirations subscription arrived this week, so I've been getting the flowers out of the tubs and putting them back quite a few times!!

You'll have to excuse the dodgy looking back of the card - looks a little, ahem, untoward doesn't it?!

  • Backing papers: Don't know as it was in the blog candy win from Jozza!
  • Flowers: Prima Esprit orange and yellows
  • Ribbon: From my stash
  • Other Bits: Dovecraft daisy brads, eyelets from Kath, seed beads and acrylic sentiments from a recent magazine freebie

Arty Girlz Challenge 48 - Shapes

First challenge ticked off my list!

The Arty Girlz Challenge 48 is:

to add any shapes to your creation
So here is mine! All the circles have been cut from the Fresh Morning Sentiment Backers from Now That's Funky cd along with the actual sentiment. Edges of the card and sentiments have been inked in either pink or black and all have brads holding them on (they actually spin round too!)
  • Backing paper & sentiment: Fresh Morning colour collection sentiment & backers from Now That's Funky

Arty Girlz Challenge 47 - No Patterned Paper!

Yes, I'm still continuing my crusade to make all my Christmas cards via challenges! This one was very much inspired by Carol - so thank you!

This week, the Arty Girlz Challenge is:

This weeks challenge is 'no patterned paper' eek but don't panic too much because this doesn't mean that you can't make your own patterned paper using stamps or doodling or from other resources etc it just means NO shop bought designer patterned paper so go and have fun :)
And this is what I came up with! The backing vellum has been embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflake folder and the edges of the card have been glittered with Anita's 3d glitter paint in silver. I've added a Sizzix cut snowflake (cut from the same card stock) which has been dotted with silver gel pen and then seed beads and wire have been threaded through the holes. This has been attached to the card with acetate, and to give the snowflake a bit of weight, I've added a little purple bell on the end. Which yes, does jingle!

Backing paper: Translucent vellum embossed with the Cuttlebug Snowflake folder
  • Embellishments: Snowflake cut with Sizzix die, with wire and seed bead embellishment and added purple bell (from Lynsey)
  • Extras: Acetate and Anita's 3d silver glitter paint from stash

Arty Girlz Challenge 45 - Blue

Once again, I'm starting the week off on a roll! Been a busy bee this weekend not only with a number of card orders but creating cards for challenges. I think I'm becoming addicted! However, I see it as getting cards made in a style that I probably would not have done plus I'm beginning to try and do the challenges as Christmas cards! I know, and its only August!!

Right, the first challenge I've gone for this week is the Arty Girlz Challenge. I came across this whilst blog hopping.

This weeks challenge is to have the colour BLUE as your main feature on your creation.
As always you choose the format so you could make an atc, card, maybe a scrapbook layout with Blue in the title or you could even bake a cake and use blue icing .... it is completely up to you.
I'd already water coloured this Tilda image a week or so ago so I was wanting to use it on something. The backing papers are from Now Thats Funky cd - Cold Snap colour collection. I printed them at A5 size as I wanted a small pattern. The image has been added to the card with 3d foam pads so she stands out a little. The papers have been dotted with silver gel pen just to provide an 'edge'. The ribbon was another 10p bargain bundle from Blackburn market and the flower I found in my stash (I think it came from Lynsey and her recent clear out). The opaque sentiment was a freebie from a magazine a month or so ago.

    • Image: Tilda hand coloured with watercolour paints
    • Backing paper: Cold Snap collection from Now Thats Funky cd
    • Ribbon: Navy blue grosgrain from Blackburn market
    • Flower: From my stash
    • Sentiment: Freebie from a magazine
