I Love Promarkers - Challenge 396 - Ikes Art

Its time for a new I ❤ Promarkers challenge and the theme for the fortnight is

3 Different Embellishments

I've used Xmas Poinsettia from our sponsor and coloured it with Promarkers.  The three embellishments that I've used are gold micro beads for the flower centres, liquid pearls and ribbon.

I've used an X Cut die to create the white frame and then layered the image on top using foam pads.  The red card is from my stash and I've used some lovely deep red satin ribbon also from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Here is a quick card I've made using Rubber Duckie from Dr Digi which I've coloured with Promarkers and then used offcuts of papers from Echo Park - Splash which I have had printed for a number of years and they have been languishing in my stash, just waiting to be used!

I've added some bakers twine from my stash and a computer generated sentiment.  I'd like to enter the following:

Polkaoodle Challenge - Anything Goes or Christmas Mosaic Effect

It's time for a new Polkadoodles challenge and the theme as always is

Anything Goes

The DT were challenged to make a Christmas project and to add a mosaic effect.  I've used the Posydoodles Basics Square dies with silver card from my stash (although it looks gold in the photo!)  I have also used the cute Ice Skates die which I've cut twice - once from white card and then again with silver for the blades.

I've added a gem to the centre of the bow.  The background has been made by blending some silver ink (I've had the ink pad for about 15 years and its not yet dry!) and then running it through a Sizzix embossing folder.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 196 - Anything Goes

It's time for a new Crimbo Crackers challenge and the theme is

Anything Goes

I've made a wordbook using some really large 10cm high die cut letters to spell out the word MERRY - the papers are from Polkadoodles - Heartfelt Christmas 8x8 paper pack.  I layered the letters onto some chocolate brown card and then added to the kraft 'pages' with foam pads.

I then cut some smaller letters from offcuts of kraft card and added the handwritten tag with some garden twine and found a Christmas flower in my stash.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Football and Forty!

Here is a card using Stan The Fan from Dr Digi.  I've coloured him with Promakers and layered him onto some die cut grass and the backing paper I found in my stash and I think I've had it for about 15 years....

I made it for one of my team who is a big Man Utd fan and of course, was turning 40!  Die cut letters from black card and a handwritten sentiment tag.

Daring Card Makers - Back to Black

It's time for a new Daring Card Makers challenge and the theme this week is

Back to Black

This is a card I made a few months ago for a work colleague who was leaving and is a big Game of Thrones fan.  I found the free image by doing a search and I created the text wording by using a free font maker.

I printed the image twice, coloured it with Promarkers and then with the second image, I coloured all the scales and then individually cut them out, curling them slightly as I glued them in place.

I found some silver card in my stash and layered it with black card and then added the dark brown twine that I also found in my stash.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Quick Gift Box

I have a bit of a thing for making gift boxes - I make one for each of my team at Christmas and fill with goodies for them (I have quite a large team!) so always on the look-out for something quick and easy to make.  And then, I make extras for other work colleagues who help me out!  So yes, I need quite a few!

So I was having a play with some of the Ho Ho Ho 6x6 papers - I glued two together (be careful with patterns!) and then when that was dry, I glued the other two edges together to create a tube.

Glue one side closed as shown - I used clothes pegs to keep it all together!  They have a better 'reach' than bulldog clips and are kinder on the grip!

Whilst waiting for all this glue to dry, I cut some holly leaves using the Holly and Spruce die - I've coloured these leaves with Promarkers to match the leaves on the paper!  I've added them to a tag (Basic Tag dies) cut from a scrap of card and then used some Dew Drops for berries.

I've now held the opposite sides together to create a triangle and punched two holes (I actually used a hole punch as the holes were a perfect spacing) and threaded the red ribbon through with the tag.

In total, with drying time, this took about an hour, but I didn't just sit around waiting for the glue to dry - I was productive with my time!  I'd like to enter the following:

100 Watt Birthday

This is a quick and easy card made using Lightbulb from Dr Digi and it's a freebie too so what's not to like?!

I've coloured it with Promarkers plus added glossy accents to the highlight area and then cut the border with a bit of a rubbish die as it didn't cut properly but I decided I liked it like that!

Papers are from my stash along with the brads and the sentiment I printed on my computer.  I'd like to enter the following:

It's time for a new Daring Card Makers Challenge and the theme is

Use Your Scraps

I've used some really old papers that I've had printed for an age from Funky Hand and sadly, its they are longer available.  I've had to carefully align the papers to cover the card blank and I've added a dotted line around the edge with a blank fineliner pen.  I've used a Paper Shelter image - Beauty Image and coloured it with Promarkers.

I've handwritten the sentiment and found some paper ribbon in my stash, tied it with some embroidery thread and added a comb charm.  Half pearls also from my stash.

I'd like to enter the following:

Polkadoodle Challenge - Autumn or Anything Goes

It's time for a new Polkadoodles challenge and the theme as always is

Anything Goes

The DT had a different challenge with the Autumn theme and to make a double sided swinging tag!  I've used the Foxy Fun die and to make the reverse, I just cut the paper from the reverse side so that I didn't get any lines from the die.  The papers are from the same bundle

I've used Posydoodles Basics Circles die to cut the aperture and papers are from The Great Outdoors A5 paper pack.  And the tag, which I've cut from acetate and chopped the bottom off (it was too long to swing!) is from the Posydoodles Basics Tag Die.  The garden twine and large snap are from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

I've used my Sizzix box die to create this and I used a sheet of Kraft card to cut it.  The baubles I bought a few years ago from Primark and added a wooden snowflake and large gem to hide where I added the baubles.

The band is a scrap piece from a previous project - I keep all my scraps because you just never know when you will need them!  Good luck with the challenge!

You need to pick at least 3 elements, and colours count as one.  I've used:  animal, leaves, pattern and something grown (mushrooms).  The fox die is from Polkadoodles - Foxy Fun Great Outdoors, and I've used papers from Polkadoodles to make the fox.  Backing papers are from my stash and I've used leaves and foliage die from Beary Cute Great Outdoors

Everything else is from my stash.  Good luck with the challenge!  I'd like to enter the following:

Autumn Wedding

I get asked to make personalised and bespoke cards quite a lot and sometimes with a specific brief.  For this card, it was to be an autumn themed Wedding card, with flowers, lots of white and to show the Bride and Grooms names.

So, I started off with two A5 sized card blanks - one I cut in half against the fold and ran this through an LDRS embossing folder.  I sometimes struggle with the 'join' as the embossing folder is usually not big enough, but this time and have to hide it with ribbon or other papers - but this time - spot the join!!  I then added this panel to the card blank.

I then cut lots of flowers using the Delicate Daisy cluster die set - I've not used the biggest daisy as it was too big for what I need.  When you think you have enough flowers, cut some more!!  I will be layering these up and need lots!  Plus if I don't use them all, I can add them to other projects.

Next I printed the sentiment on my computer and I made sure the size was right by making the word document (I use word for all my printing - just makes sense to me!) is the correct width as per the sheet of card I'm using.  I hold the A4 sheet to the screen to make sure its the same size.  And then I hold the dies over the wording to make sure its the right size.  I've used a Spellbinders die for the sentiment and then a Posydoodles Circles die for the layer.

I added a border of dotted liquid pearls as sometimes the embossed edge of a panel looks a bit unfinished, plus with this being a Wedding card, I could add a bit more interest.  I cut some thin strips of card for the flower stems and started to lay out where I wanted the flowers to go and then built up the layers as I went.

The smallest flowers were added with foam pads for extra depth and I just merrily added the layers plus some onto the sentiment as it looked a bit bare.  The sentiment circle was added with foam pads so it stood out a little more from the card.  I then coloured three of the oak leaves from the Beary Cute die set with Promarkers and added them to the stems, with a bow made from embroidery thread from my stash.

I raided my stash of half pearls to find the most 'autumnal' colours and added these - there are two different sizes.  I use glossy accents as a glue for half pearls, just so they don't ping off!
