Fetch A Sketch Challenge 29 - Midway Extra

It's time for the Midway Extra part to the current Fetch A Sketch challenge and here is a reminder of the sketch:
We have two sponsors for the challenge, and if you want to know, pop over to the challenge blog!

I've used a past freebie from A Day For Daisies as my image and coloured it with Promarkers plus some stickles.  I've used my X Cut oval dies for the shapes and added a line of liquid pearl dots around the edge of the card and layer.
The papers are from Wishes and Kisses cd from Funky Hand and I've actually used scraps up - some clever mismatching going on in the centre!  I've added some ribbons from my stash and also some pearls (just don't look at them too close as one side is wonky!)

I've had a rather busy weekend again hence why I've not yet blogged the two Jellypark new releases - got a good excuse though - the boys have had a karting weekend and Samuel came 2nd again in the Inkart Championship for Cadets!  He now has a sixth place, a third place, four second places and a first place finish out of the 7 rounds to date and he is now placed second overall!  So yes, another trophy to dust (or not!) and four more trophies and I'll have to buy him the cabinet I bet him in February when he won his first trophy!

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following:

Pile It On:  Cute as Can Be
The Crafty Pad:  Things With Wings
Secret Crafter:  Bright and Cheerful

Pattie's Creations:  Animals or Insects
  • Image:  A past A Day For Daisies freebie, coloured with Promarkers and stickles

Anyway, I've used Boy No 1 Medal digital stamp and coloured it with Aquamarkers and used papers from Funky Hand Wishes and Kisses cd.  The stars have been cut with my X Cut die and I've used a freebie acrylic stamp for the sentiment which I've had for ages!

Good luck with the challenge!

It's time to show off the brand new release images from Dude Time Doodles, and we celebrate this on the last Wednesday of each month with a Blog Hop!

After you have left me a comment, pop over to Kevin

The new release image that I've worked with is Yo Jimi and he's been coloured with Promarkers.  All the papers are from Cosmo Cricket - Mr Campy and I've added the stars with my X Cut star die.  The smaller ones have been lashed with glossy accents.

I've added a running stitch line around the edge of the card blank to mirror the digi (and to cover up the glue line as I was a bit generous with it!)  A gingham bit of ribbon from my stash and its all complete!

Jellypark Stamp Spotlight - Girl Dressing Up

Every other week, between challenges the Jellypark Design team are spotlighting a particular stamp from the Jellypark store, and this week it is the turn of Girl Dressing Up.

I've coloured her with Promarkers  and used some papers from my stash - I had to use them cunningly as I didn't have anything big enough!  I've added a pink organza ribbon with Cadbury purple ribbon for extra girliness!
Liquid pearls have been dotted around the edge of the panels to soften the edges a little.  Hope you like the stamp - go and have a look in the store - all digi's are only £1.25 each!!

Polkadoodle Challenge 29 - Go Green & Recycle!

It's Friday so that means the posts come thick and fast today!!  And it also means its time for a Polkadoodle challenge! The theme this week is:

Go Green and Recycle

I've gone for an old favourite - the cupcake template from Paper Boutique Vol 3 and the green colourway.  I've cut out all the elements and layered them up with foam pads, added some glitter glue around the edges of the cake and added a line of silver dots around the inside of the star.

My recycling is the ribbon from a long gone box of chocolates and the brown card is from a sample Wedding invitation.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details, pop over to Polkadoodles!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Nice n easy eh?!  Now here is a bit of a sneak preview of a new download from Anice that is due to be released very soon!  It's called Daisy Day and it is full of pretty papers in soft lilacs and pinks.

I've added the two butterflies, ribbons and pin along with a die cut '40'.  This is for my friend who's Birthday it is mid August - I made the party invitations a few weeks ago.

Good luck with the challenge - the only rule we have is that you MUST use a Funky Hand element and there is always a freebie to use if you don't have anything!

Simply Create Too Challenge 18 - Use It Twice

It's time for another Simply Create Too Challenge and the theme this fortnight is:

Use It Twice

I've made two cards from virtually the same image - I bought the Simple Cards Mega Bundle kit from Paper Creator.  One of the images is actually an insert but it looks just as good on the front!  And they come coloured - so print and go!

I printed the images so that they both fitted onto a sheet of A4 card, cut around the square and mounted them onto a cad blank.

I've only added a bit of lemon ice stickles, half pearls and ribbon for detail and I think they took me around half an hour to make both of them!  There are lots more in the kit - great for quick cards in a hurry!

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

And here is my rather clean and simple sample!  I've used a previous freebie and coloured her with Promarkers and used a Nestie to cut her out.  I've dotted a line of liquid pearls around the edge of the oval and also the card then tied some pink organza ribbon to the side.

Polkadoodle Challenge 28 - Olympic Theme - Red, White & Blue & BLOG HOP!

Right! I promise that this will be my fourth and last post for today! It's like buses - I don't blog for a few days (work really gets in the way sometimes) and then four come along all at once!

A new Polkadoodle challenge is launched today and the theme is:

Red, White and Blue with an Olympic theme

But that is not all!  We're having a blog hop to celebrate!  So if you have arrived at my blog from the Challenge blog then you are going in the right direction!

You need to leave me a comment and then hop to Shell and leave her a comment too.  There are no letters to collect, but you must comment on each of the stops along the way AND enter the challenge.  For more details on the actual challenge pop back to the challenge blog.

I've used a trusty brown takeaway bag for my project, and don't worry, it hasn't been used!  I've used the Britannia download which was a freebie on our facebook page a while ago and used an X cut die for the fancy shape.  The letters have been cut with my Sizzix Round a Bout alphabet dies and from matt gold card.  A bit of organza ribbon has been tied to the handle.

I gave this to my cousin Claire and her new husband Ross just before they left to live in Germany for a few years.  Obviously it wasn't empty (I'm not that bad!) - it had a tea towel in with Keep Calm and Eat Cake emblem on it!

Good luck with the challenge and don't forget to leave me a comment - there are some fab prizes on offer - and don't forget to enter the challenge as well!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Flourishes:  Sentiment as Main Focus
Paper and Such:  Red, White and Blue
Use Your Stuff:  Patriotic Colours
Critter Challenges:  Colour Palette inspiration

Jellypark Challenge - Christmas In July

I'm on a bit of a roll today - third post out of four, so stay tuned for another one to follow fairly shortly!!

It's time for a new Jellypark challenge and the theme is:

Christmas in July

I love my X Cut dies and this one has to be my favourite so I choose carefully which Jellypark image to use - its Girl and Christmas Stocking.  She's been coloured with Promarkers and a tiny bit of stickles on the top of the stocking.  I've layered the die cut image onto some pearlescent silver card as an extra layer and dotted a silver gel pen line around the edge.

The snowflakes have been cut with a Marianne Creatables die, one from silver pearlescent card and the other from vellum and a gold half pearl to the centre.  And some organza red ribbon for opulence!

Good luck with the challenge and pop over to the challenge blog to see more stunning examples!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments:  Christmas in July
Ladybug Crafts Ink:  Christmas in July
Hooked on Craft Challenges:  Christmas in July

Get Funky Challenge - Anice's Sketch

It's going to be a busy day for blogging today! This is the second of four posts from me!  It's my turn to show some inspiration for the current Get Funky! challenge, and this month it is a sketch by Anice:
I do like my sketches and despite this one looking a little daunting, it was really easy once I'd decided that I was using the cute Sizzix elephant die!  All the papers are from the brand new Wishes and Kisses cd (did you hear my name mentioned on the 8am C&C show earlier in the week when the cd was launched?!)

I've handcut the banner, added some embroidery thread, offcuts of ribbon, two random half pearls and a little bead for the elephants eye, and its all done!

Don't forget to use a Funky Hand element in your creation otherwise you won't be entered into the draw for a download of your choice.  And there is always a Funky Freebie if you've not got any Funky Hand papers!  The challenge ends tomorrow, so be quick - the new challenge launches at 9am on the 15th.  Good luck!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Unstampabelles:  Celebrations
LEJ Designs:  Animals
Truly, Madly, Crafty Challenges:  Animals

Simply Create Too Challenge 17 MIDWAY EXTRA - Summer / Vacation

Time for the Midway Extra inspiration point for the current Simply Create Too challenge and the theme is:

Summer / Vacation

Now I would love to do this - lie down in the grass but the old hay fever is rather restricting and I'd end up looking like the Elephant Man!

I've used an image from Digi Sparkle, which I understand that Heather no longer sells the images she drew although she still creates the most amazing cards! I've used Promarkers to colour with stickles for the wings.
The backing paper is printed as one - its not layered at all and its from Cuddly Buddly - and its part of this set here.  Really easy to make cards with these kinda backgrounds!  I've simply cut out the image with a Nestie die and layered it onto the card blank!

Good luck with the challenge - you've got a week left to enter!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Sassy Cheryl:  Summer Fun
Twisted Tuesday:  Holiday theme and two from list (Stickles and Die Cuts)
Incy Wincy Designs:  Summertime
  • Image:  Digi Sparkle, retired, coloured with Promarkers and stickles
  • Card Blank:  Cuddly Buddly

First Thank You's

Here are the thank you cards that I've made for Samuel's three school teachers (Mrs Oddie, Mrs Sweeney and Miss Hope).  I've used a Jellypark digi - Thank You Teacher - which I've coloured with Aquamarkers and sort of kept to the school uniform colours, although I did omit the dinner down his jumper and pen marks on his face!

The papers are from a download I've had for ages - its a school themed set with elements but I can't for the life of me remember where it came from.  I printed the papers at 8x8 and have only used three sheets - just had to use them creatively!

A bit of faux stitching around the edges and I've added some stars cut with my X Cut dies plus some back card from my stash for layering and they are done!

And after all that, I bet Samuel either forgets to take them into school or to give them to his teachers!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Sunday Sketch and Stamp:  Sketch followed
Passion For Promarkers:  Gingham / Checks
Stamp and Create:  Hands Full of Love
Tammy's Scrappin Corner:  Anything Goes

Lazy Summer

I coloured this image Penny Black some time ago with Aquamarkers and found it when I was looking for something else- which is usually the case!  It fitted rather neatly onto a flat - but looks layered - card panel from Cuddly Buddly - its part of a download collection which is available here.  I printed it onto smooth white card and then added the strip of ribbon - really quick and easy!

Great for sending through the post!  Lets hope the British summer turns out to be better than it currently is!  Having said that, I've managed to get 4 loads of washing on the line today whilst I've been working from home!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 28

Time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge! This fortnight Lou is the designer and here is the sketch she's created:

And we have a fab sponsor - Saturated Canary (sorry no badge to show you!) and I've used a Breast Cancer freebie image from a while ago which has been coloured with Promarkers and I am feeling rather pleased with myself as I have been cunning and used up scraps from a previous project - so no new papers were harmed in the making of this card!

The papers are all from Funky Hand - Wishes and Kisses cd plus two Nesties dies, a Martha Stewart punch and some tiny pearls and ribbons from my stash.  Oh, and some stickles around the edge of the image.  Cos a girl loves bling!  You just can't see it too well (dammed British summer!)

So come on over and join in our challenge!!  Good luck!

I Do Like To Be Besides The Seaside!

I forgot to blog this last week so here it is now! This is one of the new release digi stamps from Jellypark - Beach Hut Swimming Belle who has been coloured with Promarkers.  The beach is Bazzill card that I have torn for a bit of texture.

The cloud backing paper is Echo Park - Summerdays and I've layered a few of the clouds and glittered them for extra depth.  Beach huts are from Polkadoodles - Sundae of Seasons cd as they looked perfect with the digi!

Jellypark Stamp Spotlight - Girl In Bee Costume

There is a new feature every other Friday on the Jellypark Challenge blog - a stamp spotlight!  So the weeks in between the challenges one of the Design Team gets to pick a favourite image from the Jellypark store and we feature it and show off what we've created with it too!

Today is the turn of Girl in Bee Costume.

I've made her into a gift card holder (was on a roll with the Polkadoodles ones - see a previous post!) and used offcuts of Funky Hand card to make the holder.  I used an X Cut oval die for the main shape and coloured the image with Promarkers plus a little stickles on the wings.

She really is a cutie!  If you've made something with the stamp and want to show us, just head over to the Challenge blog and leave a link in the comments section and we can come and visit you!  And if you fancy getting the digi stamp - it is only £1.25 so it won't break the bank and consider it a calorie free treat on a Friday!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Simply Create Too - Challenge 17 - Summer / Vacation

This is my second post for today, but watch out - there is another one to come yet!  It's a new Simply Create Too challenge and the theme for this fortnight is:

Summer / Vacation

I just could not resist using this image by Gordon Fraser which I bought from CUP - its decoupaged so it looks even better in real life!  It's a shame that the weather here in the UK is so dreadful at the moment - we are experiencing torrential rain with localised flooding.  Luckily we live on the top of a hill and school is also on a hill - just the bit to get from one to another is close to a stream and keeps flooding... Not that I do the school run - I'm nice and cosy in my dry office at work!

I've used a now retired freebie paper from Funky Hand for the cloud backround and then added the sand element with some Bazill basics torn paper.

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Polkadoodle Challenge 27 - Gift Cards

Time for another Polkadoodle challenge!  The weeks are certainly flying by and before you know it, Christmas will be here!  The theme for the challenge is:

Gift Cards

I made a few of these last year and they were really popular, and to hedge my bets I made some more!  I've used one of my own tempates and I made two of the pouches from a sheet of A4 so it is quite economical.  The images and papers come from Paper Boutique Vol 2 and Santa has been cut out with a Nestie and then glittered.

The ribbon is from my stash and I've added a plain panel inside for a message to be written.

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 19 - Buildings

It's time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge! I'm sponsored this fortnight by the Digi Doodle Shop and one lucky winner will take away a $10 gift certificate to the store!

The theme is:

Buildings

And I've used this rather grand digi from the store called Christmas Door which I've coloured with Promarkers and added a little white flower soft.  Never used flower soft before so I'm wondering if it will stay put on the card!  I've had it for quite a while and this is the first time I've used it!  I used a Nesties die as a template to draw around and then I lightly inked the edges.

The red backing has a suede like feel to it and I had to draw the wiggly white gel pen line around the edge to hide the glue marks as they showed through a little.  Ribbon is from Tesco from a few years ago and the bling is from the Poundshop!

Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Paper Pretties:  Celebrate
Scrapbook Sisters:  One Stamp
Waste Not Wednesdays:  Use Old Forgotten Stash
Christmas Cards All Year Around:  Holly
Through The Craft Room Door:  Christmas in July

Dude Time Doodles - Fun In The Sun

Time for a new challenge at Dude Time Doodles and the theme this week is:

Fun In The Sun

Now Harold Hammock is one of my favourite Dude Time Doodle images so he just had to be used!  I've coloured him with Promarkers and made my version of a step card by using up left over bits of card when I've cut down an A4 sheet.

The cloud paper was a Funky Hand freebie from a few months ago and I've cut out two extra clouds and added them with foam pads for some depth.  The grass is actually an icicle die from Marianne Creatables.  And the sentiment has been printed from my computer.

Good luck with the challenge - for more inspiration check out the Dude Time Doodles blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
