I've used the wonderful Vinny Flytrap image and coloured him with Promarkers.  All the printed papers are from Funky Hand - Colour Me Happy cd along with some black card from my stash.  Added some twine and I made a little flag from an offcut of paper and a cocktail stick.

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 25

It's time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge and I'm hosting it this fortnight and here is my sketch:

We are sponsored by Funky Hand and Jellypark this fortnight which means two lucky entrants will each win a prize!

I've been quite minimalistic with my card - using some of the bunting digi printed directly onto my card blank and coloured with Promarkers.  The text announcing the birth of my Niece has also been printed directly onto the card (I made 26 of these with very little notice as my brother couldn't take a photo he liked and we were visiting them a few days later!)

I've layered the photo on an offcut of card and a tiny bit of pink from Funky Hand (can't remember which cd!)

I've dotted around the edge with a pink gel pen and added a half pearl underneath the text.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details pop over to the Challenge blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss:  Something New (does new baby count?!)
Fussy and Fancy:  New Baby
Moving Along With The Times:  Celebration but No Birthday

Here he is getting his trophy

And alongside the other winners Cadets and Juniors:

And with his trophy - its even bigger than the others he got from previous rounds!

Will add the photos to the boys karting blog along with the video of the final (once I manage to get it on youtube!

Polkadoodle Challenge 21 - Doodled Edge and Birthday!

It's time for another Polkadoodles challenge and this week the theme is:

Doodled Edge but make it Birthday!

We celebrated our Third Birthday earlier in the week and have a huge prize for one lucky winner, and for this challenge too there is a fantastic prize!  It's hard to believe that I've been with Polkadoodles Design Team from day one - the time really has flown!

I've made a cute Birthday card using the bear template from Paper Boutique Vol 3 - I used the A5 template, cut all the elements out and layered it up adding wobbly eyes and glossy accents on the nose.  I made the gift using papers from the same cd and adding some ribbon plus the doodled edge.

The number has been cut from glitter card and I've used my Sizzix Round A Bout dies for it.

Good luck with the challenge - if you don't enter you won't stand a chance of winning a wonderful prize!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Paper Sundaes:  Pretty In Pink
Send A Smile for Kids:  Anything Goes

  • All paperbased items:  Paper Boutique Vol 3
  • Everything else:  My stash

Simply Create Too Challenge 14 - Weddings

Welcome to another Simply Create Too challenge!  This fortnight the theme is:

Weddings

I've used a lovely ready to print shaped card kit from The Clip Art Fairy - it really is quick to make and all you need to add is sparkle!

I've simply added some stickles around the edges of the two layers and used foam pads for depth.  Really quick and easy to make!  And I don't make a lot of easel cards but this one is easy!

Good luck with the challenge, for more details, pop over to the challenge blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Creative Belli:  Weddings

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 16 - Picture Inspiration

It's time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge!  And this fortnight I have two sponsors - A Day For Daisies who are offering a $12 gift certificate to the store, and Funky Hand who is offering one winner a download of their choice from the store!

The challenge this fortnight is a picture inspiration / colour theme:
I've used the pretty Holly Berry Fairy image from A Day For Daisies and coloured her with Promarkers.  The spotty papers are from the Tis The Season Wordbook download from Funky Hand and the red paper is from Twelve Crafters Crafting.
I've used my X Cut dies for the image shape and then cut around it for a smaller boarder.  Added some pale green half pearls from my stash (you can just about see them!) plus some wired gold organza ribbon - I took the wire out and then added the bow afterwards tying the centre with a thinner offcut of ribbon.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details and how to enter, pop over to Crimbo Crackers!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
I love Promarkers:  Die Cuts

Polkadoodle Is Three!!!

It's Polkadoodles Third Birthday!! And to celebrate the Design Team have made Birthday cards with an element of three - three papers, three brads - you get the picture!  And if that is not enough, there is a special post on the Polkadoodle blog with a special challenge and you could win a totally fantastic prize!  You'll have to go to the challenge blog to find out more!

I've made a cute and very pink card with three different papers from Sugar Plum Daisy and an image from Sundae of Seasons.  The balloons, letters and numbers are all dies and I've added glossy accents over the number 3.  I've added bakers twine for the balloon strings and three tiny pearls.

Although you can't see it, I've added fake stitching around the edge of the card and dotted a fine black line around the bunting and the balloons.

The card is for my niece Niamh who is three in November - I'll probably have forgotten by then that I've already made a card for her!

Don't forget to enter the challenge to be in with a chance of winning!!  It's an extra challenge to our usual Friday ones.  Good luck!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 24 - Midway Extra

Apologies for the huge lateness of this post - I've suffered from blogger issues today and could only see the top toolbar and no bit to add stuff!  That will teach me to leave things to the last minute!

As a reminder, here is the current Fetch A Sketch as set by Jenny:

We've been using Echo Park papers and this week we are using the Splash papers.  And with a name like splash, I couldn't help but not make a little fishy!  I've glittered the waves with stickles for sparkle and added some gems from the Pound Shop.  I've made a hook using a number 2 brad and snipping the back off.  The hook actually swings around.

I made the fish by punching some hearts and using an X Cut oval die I cut his body.  Inadvertently, I've used a blue wobbly eye - I did think it was a black one but it does actually look fine!

Good luck with the challenge - for more details pop over to the Challenge blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Unstampabelles:  Moving Parts plus Split Pin as Bonus
Gingerloft:  Under The Sea
Pile It On:  Mix Your Scales (and literally as its a fish hehehe!)

Jellypark Challenge - Office Supplies

Welcome to another Jellypark Challenge!  This fortnight the challenge is to use:

Office Supplies

in your creation. I've opted for the clock face announcing that it is time for a cup of tea - which is a staple requirement in my office!  I've used the Tea Cup digi stamp (and stuck it to my card rather lopsided!) and coloured it with Promarkers.

The card blank and clock face were sent to me by my Funky Hand DT mate Debs - I've glittered the edge of the card, added a ribbon bow (it was on some chocolates originally!) and the card is complete!  The ribbon is actually a better match in real life and not as red!

Good luck with the challenge and don't forget to use some office supplies in your creation!  For more details and to see the rest of the Design Team's inspiration, pop over to the challenge blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday:  Touch of Sparkle
Digi Doodle Shops Best:  Work Related (cup of tea at 10am!)

I Love Promarkers:  Anything Goes

Simply Create Too Challenge 13 MIDWAY EXTRA - Mother Day / Female

Welcome to the Midway Extra point of the current Simply Create Challenge!  As a reminder, the theme is:

Mothers Day / Female

I've used another of the wonderful toppers from Cardmakers Delights.  It's been layered onto an offcut of base card and then onto offcuts (look carefully you will see the joins!) from Tea House papers from Dovecraft.

The main dark pink spotty paper is a free download from Papercraft Inspirations magazine plus I've also got my inspiration from the magazine for the layout.

Ribbon is again from my cousin Claire - I think there are 4 different widths of the pale green ribbon so don't be surprised if you see more of it in the future!  I've made the bunting from an offcut of card - the printed card has been layered onto stiffer card so it didn't bend and then I've added some fake brads with a black marker and glossy accents.

You've still got time to enter the challenge - for more details click here to go to the blog!  Good luck!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Delightful Challenges:  Add Ribbon

Dude Time Doodles - Happy Birthday!

It's time for another Dude Time Doodles challenge and this week the theme is:

Happy Birthday

I've used Rough Night Rodney and coloured him with Promarkers.  I've created the sentiment on the computer and used various papers from my stash.  The star paper is from Polkadoodles and the blue is from Funky Hand and I'm slowly trying to use up my shoe box of bits hence why its a bit of a mix!

I've cut some random stars with my X Cut die (I am really liking these!) and added a doodled line around the edges of the papers and stars.

I hope I'm looking better than Rough Night Rodney today as I have an important event and could possibly be meeting a Very Important Person!  Needless to say, I've had a bath and washed my hair so I'm presentable!

Good luck with the Dude Time Doodles challenge - for more details and to see the Design Team's inspiration, pop over to the challenge blog!  Don't forget - it has to be for a dude!

Craft Juice Tuesday - Week 117

Welcome to a rather late Craft Juice Tuesday!  I'm having a few issues with blogger today - not being able to type any text, the toolbar going walkabout and then not being able to see the whole post whilst typing!  But anyway, here I am!

Get Funky Challenge - Polkadots and Flowers

It's time for a brand new challenge at Get Funky! I am the hostess this month and the theme I have chosen is:

Polkadots and Flowers

Nice and easy! The main rule that we have is that you MUST use a Funky Hand product in your creation and there is always a freebie to help you on your way for the month.

I've used the fab Rainbow Polkadots download for my handbag card - the template I've used is actually a blank bag and I've simply drawn around it! The handbag actually folds flat for posting which is handy!

I've added a faux stitch around the edges in a black fineliner pen and added a Queen and Co faster with a pearl centred brad to hold it all together.

The flowers are made from a type of angel hair paper and tissue paper all layered and in reducing sizes - I used my Spellbinder scallop circle die to cut them out and again added a pearl centred brad to hold it all together.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details please go to the challenge blog!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

2 Sisters:  Make It Girlie

Fetch A Sketch Challenge 24

Time for another Fetch A Sketch challenge!  Jenny is our hostess this week and here is the fab sketch she has given us to work with:

A few challenges ago we picked a favourite paper pack and used that in our creations, this time we are using Echo Park papers and we've chosen the Little Girl digi paper pack.  For some reason, blogger keeps making my photos a little fuzzy but they are not - honest!

I've added seed bead strings plus Sizzix die cut flowers to make up my sketch plus a little inking here and there.  A really lovely simple sketch with oodles of possibility!

We have a wonderful Guest Designer join us for May - the very talented Lou!  And we've asked her to join Jenny and I on a permanent basis and she said yes!  So watch out for her sketches coming to Fetch A Sketch in the very near future!  For more details on the challenge and how to enter, pop over to Fetch A Sketch!

The boys had a rather exciting karting weekend - Jacob set his personal best time on Saturday in the Formula Bambino Championship with a 30.082 lap and came joint third but missed out on the podium and a trophy because the other third placed driver had set a faster lap time (two sessions with the fastest times added together and divided by two) so Jacob finished fourth.  Samuel had a fairly decent practice session on Sunday and almost beat his personal best time of 25.903.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Two Sisters:  Make It Girlie
Crafty Emma Challenges:  Anything Goes
Crafty Mess:  Pink and Cute
Totally Gorjuss:  Pink and Green
Charisma Cardz:  Pink and Girlie

Polkadoodle Challenge 19 - Monochromatic

It's time for another Polkadoodle challenge and the theme for this week is

Monochromatic

So just shades of one colour, although flesh tones can be added!

I've made a Christmas card!  Papers are from Sundae of Seasons and I've distressed the edges with a pair of scissors.

I've used two Marianne Creatables dies - the snowflakes (LR0125) which I have cut from vellum, and also the hanging icicles (LR0135). Two half pearls and some liquid pearls for detail and the card is complete!  And the icicles die I also use for grass too!

Good luck with the challenge and for more details pop over to the challenge blog.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Simply Create Too Challenge 13 - Mothers Day / Female

Welcome to challenge 13 for Simply Create Too!  We have a lovely theme this fortnight:

Mothers Day / Female

I've used a wonderful topper from Cardmakers Delights which I have simply layered up with papers from Cosmo Cricket - Fleuriste paper pack.  The backing paper is also from the same collection and I've added some half pearls and flowers from my stash.  The ribbon is a very generous donation from my cousin Claire - I got all the left over ribbon from her Wedding stationery!

Tracy from Cardmakers Delights was generous to send me a selection of toppers just for me to play with!  I cannot fault the speed of delivery as they arrived the day after and Tracy is lovely to deal with!  I've got more of the toppers to show over the next few weeks but if you can't wait, pop to the store!  The size of the toppers I have are roughly similar to the old cigarette cards and are printed on really good quality card.

Good luck with the challenge!  For more details, pop over to Simply Create Too!

Crimbo Crackers Challenge 15 - Sentiment As Focal Point

It's time for another Crimbo Crackers challenge!  The theme for the fortnight is:

Sentiment As Focal Point

So no titchy little messages or sentiments - the bigger the better!  I'm sponsored by Funky Hand (thank you Anice!) and the winner gets to choose a download of their choice from the store!

I've used the Tis The Season wordbook download - simply printed out the letters I wanted then cut them out, added gold stickles around the edges of the letters and then combined them together to create the word 'season'.  The smaller letters are cut from very glittery dark green card with my Sizzix Round A Bout alphabet dies and the ribbon is from Asda - a few Christmases ago!

Its actually a fake bow - I tied the ribbon and then looped another bit together, stuck it with double sided tape so it looked like a sausage and then threaded it through the knot so it all holds together and is not as bulky as a normal bow!

Good luck with the challenge - for more details pop over to Crimbo Crackers!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Creative Card Crew:  Sentiment As Focal Point

Totally Stampalicious:  Sparkle, Shine and Bling

Get Them Checked!

I have a badge in my sidebar to the Link Up For Pink blog - if you've not yet clicked on it do so!  They have started a fortnightly challenge, and the first one is an awareness theme - get them checked, kinda thing!

I've used this wonderful Saturated Canary image which is especially for the cause.  She's been coloured with Promarkers plus a little bling in her hair and on the tshirt symbol.  Papers are Echo Park - Be Mine which I've cut with my new circle Nesties (no more wonky circles for me!) plus a little inking and doodling around the edges.

Pink organza ribbon has been added (The Stamp Man) plus some pins and pearls and I've used the fab May sketch from Kathy's Waffle Sketch File.

Mermaid

It's time to show off the new release digi stamp over at Jellypark and here she is!  Such a cute mermaid!  I've used a scalloped edge card blank as a template to draw around as I've used some hammered white card (sort of a bit like watercolour paper) as the base.

Image has been coloured with Promarkers and I've cut out the image leaving a tiny white border around the edge.

The card base has been coloured directly onto it with Aquamarkers and I'm quite pleased how it all turned out and I've just realised that the card blank ishaped a little like a fancy shell!  I'd like to say that it was planned, but I'm not that good!  I've inked around the edges with a Chestnut brown Whispers almost dired out inkpad.

And look - no embellishments!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Jellypark Challenge - Girly Girl

It's time for another Jellypark challenge and this fortnight the theme is:

Girly Girl

So lots of pink (probably!)  Well, I've steered away from pink and I've used two images drawn especially for me by Claire, the illustrator behind Jellypark, for my cousin Claire (same name, different people!) who got married at the end of March and I'd been asked to make the special Thank You cards.

So here are the two cards for the Bridesmaids.  I've used linen effect white card for layering and also the card blank and the pale green ribbon was used on all the Wedding Stationery and also decorations.  If you are wondering why the Bridesmaids are not in that colour, its because they were in a white / cream colour!

I've coloured them with Promarkers and Claire drew their names too so its more personal!

Good luck with the challenge - for more details and to see the rest of the team's samples, just pop over to the challenge blog!
I'd like to enter the following challenges:

I've used the wonderful Armchair Arnie as he is a big sports fan, but only from the comfort of his armchair!  He's been coloured with Promarkers and the papers are from Echo Park - Mr Campy.  Apologies if the photo looks slightly out of focus (or is that just me?!) but it looked fine before I added it to the blog!

I've stamped the sentiment myself with individual alphabet stamps and the brad and bottle cap are from my stash.

Good luck with the challenge - for more details, please see the challenge blog.
