Summer Birthday

I did say that I would be showing more word books as I've had an order for 3, so here is number 2. And it fits nicely with the current Rosie Dee challenge which is:

Summer Birthday's

I've used papers from Now That's Funky from Funky Hand and I manage to get two letters length ways from a sheet of A4 card as I print the letters via wordart. Each letter has been outlined again with a black sharpie marker for definition.

The ribbons, beads, hat pins and flowers all come from my stash.

Just one more wordbook to go now, so watch out for that one before the end of the week!

Soooooo Yummy!

Second post for me today, only because I forgot to blog yesterday! This card is for the Rosie Dee challenge which is:

Sooooo Yummy!

The digi image is from Mama's Kitchen and I've coloured it with Promarkers and some inking (or rather splodges). The red card is from my stash and I've had it that long I can't actually remember where it came from but it is a sort of shiny red card. What ever the technical term for that would be.

The printed backing papers are from an old copy of Papercraft Inspirations which I downloaded and then can print off as I don't like the shiny thin quality of the actual freebie papers that come with the magazine. The sentiment is also from the download.

And the ribbon. Well, I realised that the knot would take up the space where I needed to put the image, so its a falling off the card kinda knot.

Hmmm, I feel hungry now. I've not long since eaten my sandwich, but there is a Wispa calling me from the fridge. But I don't think I can be bothered to walk from my desk to the little kitchen (I'm at work) and back.....

Ladybird, Ladybird

The Rosie D challenge curently is a colour challenge for St Georges Day:

Red and White for St George's Day

And I've still got quite a few card orders on the go, and as luck would have it, I was already half way through making this - and it fits the challenge quite nicely!

All paperbased elements are from Paper Boutique from Polkadoodles - the ladybird and grass are layered / decoupaged and I've added a sentiment label (coloured with Promarkers) which is actually from Sugar Birdies - I've handwritten the sentiment.

Added some flowers and buttons and made the antenna from wire and card candy. I'm going to add the recipients name onto the grass.

Shirt and Tie

Time for a male card and this has been made for the Rosie Dee Challenge which is:

Just For Men

All elements (except for white card circle and jute string) are digital downloads from Tinker and Co and the collection is called Vintage Dad. I've printed it all off onto ivory hammered card and then layered the shirt.

The dodgy photo is another taken by my husband and this was the best one of the two as this is shown flat. The other pic he'd stood the card up but wrong way up so it looked really odd. And he didn't realise.....

A bit of inking and corner rounding and a bit of dotting and it's complete!

Ben 10

I've had this Ben 10 image for a while - the very talented Claire drew it and allowed me a copy so don't be thinking that I've drawn it! I've simply coloured it in with watercolour pencils!

This is for the Rosie Dee challenge which is a sketch:

And I've flipped it around as the logo didn't fit where it should have gone. I've used a green card blank that I found in my stash, rounded and doodled the edges then cut two shapes with my Nesties and layered the image onto black card.

Layered Heart

Time for a Rosie Dee challenge now, which is a free theme, so I've made another Valentine card and have used papers from the soon to be released (details in my sidebar) Love, Marriage and More from Polkadoodle.

On this one I've rounded all edges and inked them. The heart was made by drawing around a heart stamp and then cutting subsequent ones a little smaller so that they layered up. I then cut out a few random hearts and layered them across the centre.

The organza ribbon is from my stash and matched the red hearts beautifully. I've made the hat pin. Simple but effective eh?!

Rudolph's Got A Bright New Bell!

And just as I thought that I'd finished making Christmas cards for the time being (I aim to try and make some throughout 2010 as I did this year - and the result? Not stressed! Yeah!) I saw this cute felt tree decoration (or at least it was before I snipped the cord off) from Sainsbury's and it was half price too!

So, it stayed on my craft / dining table until I saw Rosie Dee's current challenge which is:

Rudolph's Got A Bright New Bell!

So how could I resist?! And this was one quick card to make too! Backing paper is a trimmed 6 x 6 sheet from A Wonderful Christmas Time pack from Papermania, edges inked with chestnut Whispers ink and a touch of green on the corners. Rudolph came with the bell attached and I've added the silver stars (the one on the antlers hides the string hole which looked a bit macabre!)

The ribbon is from my stash and I've tied a double legged bow for a bit of fancy.

And there you go! I bought another reindeer too, so I could possibly make another one the same!

Peas On Earth

This is my entry into the current Rosie Dee Challenge which is:

Red and Green and a bit of bling

I originally wasn't going to make a Christmas card but I'd seen the Peas on Earth image from Whimsie Doodles and just had to buy it!

I've coloured the image with felt tips, watercolour pencils and added a little glitter glue on the hat bobbles and also in front of the wording. I've inked the edges of the image with red and brown ink and have added a fine dotted line of gold around the edges too.

The printed backing paper is from the Rustic Walk collection from A Work In Progress - this was a freebie from a while ago which is no longer available. I've used my little sewing machine for the double stitching around the edges. And yes it is supposed to be a little wonky!

The ribbon is from my stash and the gold heart is a brad which I've simply glued onto the ribbon as the knot is too chunky for me to get the brad through! You'll have to excuse the fact that the glitter glue was not dry when I took the photo!

I think this could be my last Christmas card for the time being. But then again, you never know!

Thank you to Rosie for my winnings from the last challenge I entered - arrived really quickly and lovely emails!

Yum Yum!

Now for something a little different! The current Rosie Dee challenge (another one that I found whilst blog hopping!) is the following:

... a creation using the colours of Pink and White with a touch of a wafer in the form of some corrugated card along with the following sketch:

And here is my interpretation of the challenge! Sometimes when I see a challenge I know exactly what I'm going to do and I knew straight away this time!

I've used the decoupage cupcake from Candy Doodles from Polkadoodles and the backing paper is from the same cd. The ribbons are from my stash - I've overlaid the pink onto the chocolate organza and tied them together. The sentiment is also from the Candy Doodles cd - I've cut the letters out individually.

The corrugated card is from my stash and I just had a bit left big enough to use! A bit of doodling around the edges and a bit of inking and it's done!
